Egg events have always been a scam. As mentioned, Niantic only updated the blog after the event started to state that you'll need to be "very lucky" to hatch Larvesta. Why highlight it as a core event feature if very few people can actually obtain it? Save your coins.

With ML Classic going away, I'm finding my motivation to raid significantly decrease. Before I would happily do 10-20 raids to get one good enough for level 40. Now legendaries are level 50 + hundo or bust, which means my options are to do 60+ raids or none.
