What India should do: announce a $100bn manufacturing mega plan. Zero tax on manufacturing. One-stop clearance. Land on lease. Training sops. Institutional tie-ups. Funding match for jobs. Massive upgrade on power plants for cheap power. Build & scale manufacturing in the next 2-3 years - for both internal consumption and as a Chinese alternative. Start now.

My advice to the Indian administration: Focus on Indian tech stack now - search engine, OS, social networks - like China and put that tech talent to use. GCCs will still run just like in China. But please develop some self respect. What’s the use of that tech talent if you use all borrowed tech including this very app ? You have no technology of your own. You don’t have your cloud. You don’t have your own messaging. You use WhatsApp. You use YouTube. Entire country is using just one platform - Google with no shame. Use this opportunity to reignite some self respect please 🙏

China demonstrating a prototype tailless next generation stealth fighter feels very much like a 'Sputnik Moment' because the US could have built something like this a long time ago but has chose other procurement strategies. Without a tail it has some pretty complicated trailing edge control surfaces - looks like 5 on each wing. It looks like there's 3 air intakes for 3 engines, with one air intake on the top. This could mean a low speed stealth cruise capability using just the center engine with the underside intake closing to reduce radar returns. Of course people say 'fighter' because the wing sweep suggests supersonic capabilities (with 3 engines it has plenty of power), and the fact that it has intakes on the bottom which are needed in high AoA maneuvering. It could easily have some other roles. Also I keep seeing 'space capabilities' which somehow people are construing to mean 'can fly in space' rather than the more realistic 'can communicated with satellites for domain awareness'.

Why does India not have these cities like York in England ? See, March 1739 Nadir Shah ransacked Delhi. He carried so much wealth to Tehran that he stopped taxing his country. Then Abdali committed multiple genocides on Delhi and Punjab in 1760s. Nizam burnt down Pune once. Deccan Sultanates absolutely mowed down Vijayanagara capital - then top 5 city and center of wealth. Then by the time some cities could rebuild Brits came in and started extracting tolls. Pune’s Shaniwarwada was burned down to ashes. Forts were bombarded and flattened with canons balls. India didn’t get a chance to breathe in the last 1k or so years. This is the first 60-70 years and that too only last 20 years really when trade took off and we were able to build. So give it time. Also let’s not make those mistakes again.

What was once occasional anti-Indian hate is now routine, triggering daily pushback from naive Indian poasters that only makes it worse. Two platforms lead this: 1: TikTok follows CCP directives and is banned in India, so has no incentive to hold back 2: X fueled by Musk’s weird bias for hate & drama Worst part ? Indian influencers ride the algo to boost it. Several accounts amplify the hate just to make their daily $$. Sad but it is what it is. It’s heading toward a breaking point. Not looking good.

They usually get only 100mm of rain per year but this year alone Emirates has had 10x more than that due to cloud seeding. If this works they only need 8-10 such events per year to turn the place semi-green. Imagine. I’m sure they’ll be working on dams and underground reservoirs. This is the power of tech. This is what humans do. They change the world around them using technology. Always have. If you eat food every bit of wheat you eat came from a type of grass. Refined and selected by humans over thousands of years. Fire is a technology. Primitive yes. But technology still. Meanwhile, Israel finished the entire org of their two main adversaries. Look, I'm not saying pick a fight with your neighbor. But if they do you must act to finish it. This is Elgin Mills in Kanpur. Setup in 1864 this was one of the biggest Textile Mill globally. Along with Lal Imli and other it employed thousands upon thousands. It could have been a global powerhouse post independence. Kanpur could have been a global leader in textiles. Billions of dollars of machinery and setup. Thousands of acres of many, many factories. Kanpur was full of them. Skills. Trade routes. They had everything. Elgin Mills even had a powerhouse next to it. Called River Side Powerhouse. They used to ship via Ganga river which is next to it. Very low IQ socialist politics destroyed all of it. Kanpur became destitute. Will the politicians who destroyed it ever pay for it ?? Hardly. You gen z people don’t even know this. Had a Vietnamese close friend in 2012. She hated Vietnam and said it would collapse soon. Many friends in China said the same about China. In fact the oft repeated quote was ‘China will collapse soon’. Around that time, post-2008, another friend from America said it was collapsing. I told him to just buy Google/Apple/Amazon shares since it was all very cheap at one point. He didn’t. $10k would now be worth millions. In 2018, I was sitting with an investor in NYC. I asked him about Musk. He said Musk was a fraud, Tesla was a fraud, and it would all crash. I was about to buy $20k of Tesla and didn’t. 20k = $2mn+ easily. Keep in mind 20k wouldn’t have bankrupted me. So even if his advice was right I should’ve followed my heart. The downside was just losing 20k. Upside was millions. But I was too blackpilled. Mined a few btc in 13, everyone in the community was blackpilled - this is a scam this is a scam that I took Ls on it. Mined doge too. Same story. Listened to blackpillers. Sold early. Years later I have now learned that blackpilling is the default retarded state. That’s why few people become millionaires - the rest keep slogging. You only hate what you know. You hate your country cause you know it. And in that hate you forget any rational upside. Optimists make money. Pessimists just sound smart.

China makes all the stuff. Who buys it ? Americans. What do they pay in ? USD. What does China get ? USD What do Americans get ? Stuff. All the stuff. Ok till here. Now what does China do with that USD ? They give it back to US as a loan (bond). So US gets all the USD it paid China. And US gets all the stuff. Is that not the smartest move ever ? But: It's payback time. US now has to pay China back the loan some day. But they pay interest every year. Here's the interesting thing: what does China do with that money ? They get more USD - right. So what do they do with it ? That's right. They give it right back to the US as more loan. Cycle repeats. US gets free money forever. US gets to keep all the goods. Are you getting this or not ?

India is at $2500 gdp/capita. I first went to China around ~2009 when it was at ~3500 gdp/capita and I can assure you it was in bad shape then. I went to almost all the cities I could. Bad pollution, bad traffic, slums…the works. To their credit they rapidly upgraded after that. Given India is growing - it should get to 3500 in a few years. It will need to pick up pace though. Not everything has to be a blackpill. Some things are just factual. India is at $2500 which is a very low number - China was at this stage in 2005/6 and trust me during that time it was very similar to where India is today. It is what it is. Things will improve gradually as always. Doesn’t matter who stays or leaves or complains - every country has its issues and so does India but it doesn’t mean the issues don’t get resolved over time.
British Indian tourist goes to India for 3 years and calls it "a dump". He says even other poorer countries in Asia like Vietnam are better. India is in denial about it's global reputation.

Researchers at MIT wrote a paper claiming GPT4 scored 100% on MIT's EECS curriculum. Turns out they were just prompting GPT4 again & again till it gave the right answer. That's not all. They actually uploaded full answers within the prompt! Very, very dishonest. This is MIT - imagine. Thankfully @sauhaarda called them out with receipts. Sadly, this is very common in the academia these days. That's why its hard to trust the rankings. If this happens with a trivial paper imagine what happens with larger more critical stuff like health research.
A recent work from @iddo claimed GPT4 can score 100% on MIT's EECS curriculum with the right prompting. My friends and I were excited to read the analysis behind such a feat, but after digging deeper, what we found left us surprised and disappointed. dub.sh/gptsucksatmit 🧵

Where’s the big gate, security perimeter, and bold MIT signage? - Professors are very accessible. The more accomplished they are, the easier they are to talk to (tbf, this is similar to some IITs). - Classes are flexible. You can mix courses, design your own major, or just walk in and audit any class. No one checks. Lastly the research labs are just out of this world.

So apparently China has several top models now. I can understand India’s manufacturing challenges. I can understand the infra gaps. What I can’t understand is how Indian IT giants sitting on billions have made no real AI progress while their core business is under direct threat. And they continue to peddle nonsensical visas and what not. That business is over! And no I’m not talking about cash starved startups. No. This isn’t even about India. It just makes business sense to own SOTA models if you’re an IT leader with 100k+ employees. AI will eat your own business alive in ten years. It’s just common sense! You have the cash. It’s sitting on your balance sheet. Use it. There’s absolutely no cope except that you’re intellectually lazy and nobody is calling this out This is a historic L. Monumental mistake. One for the history books. Big big blackpill lads I can’t lie.
Kimi has a distinct writing style that is free of most of the patterns we now associate with AI generated text. Both Kimi and DeepSeek's prose is apparently even more impressive in Chinese. Both of these models have a unique 'voice', quite different from Western AI.

There’s a reason why west has complete cultural dominance. There’s a reason why people love to work for American companies. The culture of mutual respect can’t be taught. It has to be native. If Koreans don’t understand it it’s their loss. Indians should take notes too.

Talking to a big manufacturer in Kanpur. Absolute dearth of talent - even when thousands are looking for a job. They need a job - just that they can’t do any job. People can’t even follow basic commands. Attrition very high. All very bad signs for industrialisation. Paying more is an often high iq advice given which doesn’t help for many reasons. First there’s no lack of people. Thousands need a job. Just that they can’t work. They’re not trained. Second is even the manufacturers are struggling with margins. High input cost. High commodity cost. High transport cost. They’re barely surviving. How will this high iq advice help them. They can’t invest in training and culture and all that. They can’t create a trained workforce. If you want industrialisation then you need a nationally trained workforce. Time to act on that.

Don’t start any business. Get into trading. Understand the supply chain. Understand margins. Understand the market. Spend 2-3 yrs just doing that. Then think about substituting that supply chain. Ambani didn’t jump from sky to sell oil door to door. He started with trading. Go to canton fair to see what’s in demand and what’s being produced. Get on Amazon and see what’s in demand. See margins. Source from suppliers. Learn to source. Learn to sell. Build a team. Learn to hire. Learn to talk to the govt bodies. Meet people. Go to events. Buy and sell. Then think about investing more money gradually. It’s a business - it’s not magic. You need to do a lot of hard work. I’ve said this so many times. Free advice means it’s not valued.

Anyway as I said.
There's a high probability of an Oil & Gas pocket near Andaman. Geographically adjacent Rakhine basin has oil fields that Myanmar is exploiting. There's a high chance Andaman would have some access. I am not sure if there's an aggressive search going on but it should.

India’s tragedy is having leftist leaders who believe industrialization won’t help its poorest most populous states. So even if you go town to town like Gandhi did, trying to spark a manufacturing revolution, they’ll resist it tooth and nail. The one path is to tie industrialization to religiosity - again like how Gandhi did - then it may work. Other wise it will be nearly impossible to get anything done. India is all set to be trapped in mid poverty if the poorest don’t get access to industrialization.
that scandinavian countries have no big industries is not true

It's a sad day. 27 Hindus were lined up and butchered. If Hindus don’t unite and speak up, this will reoccur. I know most Hindus in the West don’t care but maybe they should.

"Why don’t they just move to cities for work?" China restricts free movement. A permit is needed to live in Shanghai/other booming cities. So yes, China is booming but only for those born in certains parts or with a permit. No city can plan for millions in/out randomly.
This is just about all they do in this small remote village.
