OVERCOMING THE ODDS: Shane Messenger was born with hearing loss in both ears. Doctors told his family he could never play contact sports, due to risk of going deaf if tackled. He took up kicking (less risk of tackling) and is now a kicker at St. John's College HS @nbcwashington
