EMERGENCY UPDATE —There are 2 major issues affecting many customers right now: winter storm outages & controlled power outages directed by @ERCOT_ISO. We’re doing everything possible to respond to each power emergency event. Customers don’t need to report outages at this time.
EMERGENCY UPDATE: Additionally, our crews continue to restore equipment damaged by the significant winter storm so those homes & businesses can receive power ASAP. Crews, including mutual assistance contractors from out of state, have been relocated to areas of highest need.
EMERGENCY UPDATE: At the request of @ERCOT_ISO, Oncor & TX utilities have begun rotating electric outages to protect the electric grid. These typically last 15-45min, but may vary depending on winter weather and grid conditions. Please continue to conserve energy where able.
EMERGENCY UPDATE: @ERCOT_ISO, agency that manages the TX electric grid, reports extreme weather conditions caused many generating units across fuel types to trip offline & be unavailable. Rotating outages likely to last thru the AM &could be in effect until weather emergency ends

EMERGENCY UPDATE: At this time, @ERCOT_ISO is unable to predict when grid conditions will stabilize. All customers are urged to be prepared for cont' extended outages. Please also prioritize safety. Warming stations are available in many areas- check online or call 211 for more.
EMERGENCY UPDATE: Rotating outages remain in effect at the direction of @ERCOT_ISO because the supply of electricity is lower than demand. It is possible to experience multiple outage rotations. We recognize how unsettling these outages can be and strive to minimize impacts.
As of 5 a.m. approx. 30K customers are w/o power. A majority of outages – ~24k – are in the Dallas metro area & adjacent N & NE counties. The storm has also greatly impacted the N & W regions of our service area, w/ approx 5k outages near the Red River & 1K in the Permian Basin.
EMERGENCY UPDATE: We recognize the hardships and extreme frustration customers without power face during these historical low temperatures and are ready to deliver power as soon as electric generators are able to provide it.
Crews have been working through the day to restore power to customers in the heart of the #DallasTornadoes impact area. We expect the 900 remaining customers to be restored late tonight.

In addition, we are responding to separate outages caused by the record-breaking winter storm that continues to impact our entire service territory. We are doing everything possible to respond to each of these power emergency events. (2/3)
EMERGENCY UPDATE: Oncor was able to rotate some outages overnight, but poor grid conditions have continued to prevent us and other utilities from rotating, or rolling, the entirety of these outages, leading to extended periods without power for many of our customers.

RESTORATION UPDATE: Day & night, crews have worked long hours to restore power to customers as soon & as safely as possible. From resetting poles & wires to repairing & replacing transformers, our men & women have worked non-stop to address outages.
As soon as enough generation is available, we will return to a regular cadence of rotating outages with the goal of providing any temporary relief that we can for those who have been without power the longest.
EMERGENCY UPDATE: Due to ongoing record-low temps and generation, @ERCOT_ISO has continued to direct Oncor & utilities across TX to drop power load through maintained controlled outages. These controlled outages are occurring across the state and our entire service territory.
EMERGENCY UPDATE: Rotating outages primarily take place in residential neighborhoods & business areas. At this time, it's not known how long these outages will last. @ERCOT_ISO is monitoring supply and demand of electricity across TX & updates will continue to be shared here.
Oncor crews have worked throughout the night assessing damage and restoring power across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Since the storm, power has been restored to more than 80K customers. Crews will continue to work as quickly and as safely as possible to restore all impacted.
EMERGENCY UPDATE: Severe winter weather that affected TX this wk resulted in damage to some electric equipment. Crews have continued to work 24/7 to ID areas of repair & perform restoration work. Teams are 100% committed to getting the lights back on across the service territory.

In continuing our efforts to safeguard the grid and respond to @ERCOT_ISO’s request to conserve energy across Texas, here are some important ways to conserve energy once customers have power restored:

These personnel are well experienced in working in extreme weather conditions and will be working around the clock to assess damages, clear debris and repair damaged equipment.

We have been making steady progress to get the lights on for our customers. More than 340K customers have been restored, and less than 8K outages remain. We will continue to work as quickly and as safely as possible to restore power to all impacted by the storms on Sunday.
