Two weeks ago, I couldn't draw a straight line. Today, I woke up to find out my work will be featured in an art gallery. Here's my journey... A bit of background: - I've always had shaky hands - Handwriting is unreadable to most - Before NFTs, my only exposure to art was through school classes, which ceased to be a part of the mandatory timetable after year 9. Fast forward to late 2020 when I first entered the blockchain space I quickly discovered NFT's which was the catalyst for my appreciation for art. These digital tokens sparked something inside me. They allowed regular people like me to appreciate and own brilliant pieces of art. The more I navigated through this vibrant sea of creativity, the more my perspective shifted. I watched artists like @osf_rekt , who didn't come from traditional artistic backgrounds, break barriers and succeed. Their journeys fuelled my curiosity and challenged my own limiting beliefs. I began drawing on my girlfriends tablet earlier this month. Being an active participant in the space I came across 3 digital art competitions: - Two of these competitions were on the @joynxyz platform - The other through @ThankApe and the @apecoin DAO I thought this to be a good "excuse" to test what I'm capable of. The first on Joyn was a Doodle art competition with one of my favourite creators @VinnieHager as a guest curator. We had to mint and list our submission as an edition of between 10-100 pieces. Here came my first surprise when one of these editions sold! The feeling was surreal to say the least. It became even crazier when I found out this morning that I was one of the artists chosen from the second competition on Joyn to be featured at: MARN, Milwaukee's Artist Resource Network during @summerfestTech! This rapid-fire transformation was possible only because of the incredible support I've received and the liberating ethos of the Web3 space. It's shown me that the only limits are the ones we impose on ourselves. Here's to shattering more ceilings and painting brighter futures! Thank you to everyone who has supported me so far!
