Locomotive 2253 was in steam today for the first time in 19 years! Built in 1943 for the war effort it was shipped to France shortly after D-Day to help keep supplies moving for the war effort. Today the locomotive was named Omaha in honour of the fallen.

1 year ago today, on the second day of the Steam Gala, the 9F No. 92134 pulled its first train in 50 years after its restoration. The MPD worked their socks off to get the loco ready and what a great achievement. 👍
