I remember this day 34 years ago as if it were yesterday, the day our darling Jimmy was born. From the moment he came into this world, he brought nothing but joy, not only to our family but to all his friends too. He was filled with love, and everything he did, he did with that amazing smile. Over the past few days, I’ve been watching old videos of Jimmy. I thought they would make me cry, but instead they mostly made me smile... although there were a little tear or two as well. As much as I remember his birthday, I also vividly remember the day he died, and I cannot believe it has been 18 years tomorrow. Somehow, it feels like I have lost some of those years. Barry and I are always so grateful for all the love and support we receive. It truly makes such a difference to us and our family. We will always continue to spread Jimmy’s legacy of forgiveness, peace and hope, because every young person is precious, just like Jimmy was. Much love, Margaret x

Dear friends, I wanted to share an update with you all regarding Jake Fahri, the man responsible for Jimmy's tragic death. Recently, his parole hearing took place, and it has been decided that he will be released in the next few weeks. Many of you may have already come across this news. Anticipating this outcome did not make it any easier for us, and upon hearing the news yesterday, it resurfaced all the emotions from that fateful day, May 10th, 2008. Some may argue that he should remain inside for life. However, we must hold onto hope and pray that the parole board has made the right decision and that Jake Fahri will no longer pose a threat to our communities. Only time will reveal the truth. In spite of these challenges, our message remains unwavering. We choose forgiveness, peace, and hope. Jimmy's legacy will live on through our work in promoting the good in young people. 15 years… ‘I can’t believe how time is going so quickly. After his death, Jimmy was known as the boy who Sparkled ✨ and the Gentle Giant; when I think about that, it makes me smile. Everything about Jimmy was a delight, and we all miss him so much, but we can’t change things as much as I’d like to. I want to hold him in my arms, cuddle him and tell him I love him; however, I can’t. It’s really important to me, and I think the rest of the family, that we keep his name alive and work for Forgiveness, Peace & Hope. We will never forget the kindness of so many people after we lost Jimmy, the number of people that brought food around to our house, we had enough food to feed all the people in our home and garden, and it was a lot. I often think of Jimmy’s friends whom he loved, and I’m sure many are probably married with children now. I suppose I can only think of Jimmy as being 16 to me; he’s the boy who will never grow up. So today, I would like to thank you all for the love and kindness you have shown us over these last years; we will always be grateful for the support we have and continue to get. Today marks 16 years since we lost our dear Jimmy. It's always a difficult time, and even more so because we only had him for 16 years.  We try not to focus on the negative because, however sad it is, we can do nothing to change it. What is more important is remembering Jimmy for the lovely boy he was. His smile lit up the room, and he was the kindest, most joyful young man. What we do focus on is His legacy, especially keeping his name alive and our work for peace, two things which we promised him on that sad day in May 2008  Thank you all for the love and support you have given us over the years and the kindness you've shown our family. I’ve always loved this very special time of the year. Everything about Christmas fills my heart - celebrating the sweet baby Jesus, the warmth of family gatherings, and the chance to reflect on what truly matters. On Christmas Day, we visit the cemetery to spend time with Jimmy. He loved Christmas so much, and for me, the day only truly begins once we’ve been up to visit him. It’s a tradition that grounds us and reminds me of the joy he brought to all our lives. This year has been a wonderful one for the charity. We’ve had the privilege of reaching so many young people, sharing Jimmy’s legacy of forgiveness, peace, and hope. Every year, I feel this message becomes more vital and necessary, and I am so proud of the work we do together. On a personal note, these past few months have not been easy. Being diagnosed with cancer for the second time was a tough journey. But I have so much to be thankful for - our incredible NHS, who cared for me and helped restore my health, and my amazing family, who stood by my side every step of the way. Now, I’m looking forward to returning to work with renewed energy and an unshakable determination to bring hope and change to the lives of young people. I will never give up on trying to make a difference, and I draw so much strength from all of you. Thank you for your love, support, and kindness. You make all the difference, and your encouragement fuels everything we do. As we celebrate this beautiful season, I ask you to keep Jimmy’s legacy of forgiveness, peace, and hope close to your heart. Together, we can continue to spread that message far and wide. This morning I was reflecting on Jimmy’s life to some young people, I spoke of how he was”different” he could relate to young or old he was a friend to all with a true heart of gold and anyone who new him will agree, so we thank God for his life and his legacy - Margaret xx
