I’d love to know more about how the Liberal-aligned strategy firm, CT Group (formerly Crosby Textor) came to be put in charge of Yes23 strategy. Also slightly curious: Simon Frost (Josh Frydenberg’s campaign manager) as COO. Rumour has it this was because of a deal with Dutton to secure bipartisanship. Once secured, Dutton did a 180. An investigation into how the money was spent could be eye opening.

You’re ignoring the bit about Albo (allegedly) securing a bipartisan agreement with Dutton, only to have Dutton break that agreement once the foxes were all installed in the henhouse.

As a former Google PM, I'm genuinely shocked. It made it easy to integrate with paid Google products: Workspace and Cloud. This feels like a huge strategic misstep. I am forced to move my domains to CloudFlare, a Google Cloud competitor. 🤯

Yes, and with the benefit of hindsight, maybe it wouldn’t have mattered too much what was in the booklet - with all the misinformation that came later. Yet, I’m somewhat alarmed that Liberals might have had their fingers all over Yes23.

It was the same person! Jake Smith. What’s worse, I wrote to @stripe with all the details and they sent back a wishy-washy “At the end of the day each merchant is responsible for the charges they choose to honor…” This is clearly a huge coordinated attack.

Tony Abbot previously said he wanted the same, but gleefully voted No. I’d love to know if Textor personally wrote the Yes case in the referendum booklet. Seems likely since he was head of strategy. Even progressive friends started to question voting Yes after reading it.

We ultimately failed at Shoes of Prey, but one story I'm still in awe of comes from @jodiefox's book. When she told the workers in China the company was closing, they asked who would finish the shoes. She said the customers would all get refunds, and not to worry. But the workers insisted on finishing them.

You’re missing the point. As I said in my original post, rumour has it those people were installed in exchange *for* bipartisanship support. Once Dutton reneged, they remained. Best of both worlds for Dutton.

What I find more curious is the number of Libs / mining execs involved in Yes23. In addition to Textor and Tony Nutt (Howard’s advisor), and Simon Frost - Frydenberg’s campaign advisor - as COO, it’s curious that Michael Chaney is on the board too - former Chairman of Woodside Petroleum Limited, and former director of BHP. There’s also Catherine Tanna, a current Director of BHP. The founder of Yes23 is Daniel Gilbert of the law firm Gilbert + Tobin. He set up Yes23 in 2019, which was very forward looking of him. (Footnote: G+T have a mining legal practice.)

Yes, perhaps. If Dutton reneged on a deal, maybe that should have come out. Very messy though, and would have likely sunk the legitimacy of the Yes23 org. Fewer volunteers would have crippled its effectiveness even further.

Lol, you must be a comedian. You can actually verify these things by doing a simple Google search. What we don’t know is what deal, if any, was made between Dutton and Albo. I’m simply asking that those details be made public. The fact that CT Group was allowed anywhere near the Yes23 strategy indicates a deal *was* made.
