Story of how a 17 y.o. guy gained 50k followers on Instagram in less than a year🥵
Since childhood, I’ve been drawn to the world of content — cameras, bloggers, trends.
In 2018, when extreme pranks were at their peak popularity, I decided to give it a try.
I started doing risky pranks, sometimes even facing the police, which only added to the excitement of my content.
A community began to form around me — classmates, neighbors, and acquaintances supported me, saying I should keep going.
However, I started thinking about my parents, who, although supportive, were worried about my safety.
This pushed me to make changes!
I decided to create safer but equally interesting content — lighthearted pranks and social experiments.
This approach worked!
My views skyrocketed, and people started recognizing me on the streets, not only in my city but also in others, coming up to take pictures.
One of my first new videos got over 100k views, and the next one hit 500k, which was an impressive result for me.
I started making connections in the industry to learn more about it and build my network (Many of those bloggers now have between 1 to 5 million followers…).
Soon, I received my first advertisement request. This marked my first step toward monetization.
I reinvested my earnings into ads with other bloggers and pages, which brought in new followers.
And also, for an eleventh-grader, I lived quite well and could afford a lot.
But it wasn’t all perfect:
By 2019, as I was finishing school and moving to another city for my studies, I decided to stop.
I had matured, my mindset had changed, and I lacked the support of close friends who shared my passion.
I tried to return to content creation after the move, but the audience engagement was no longer the same.
(A radical change in the direction of content always makes itself felt).
After a while, I stopped for good!
Looking back now, I feel nostalgic and realize how many important lessons I learned: this journey taught me not only the nuances of content creation but also about life.
My advice to those who are just starting or are on the path of development:
Believe in yourself, value friendship and your reputation, improve your product, and keep moving forward no matter what.
Rely only on yourself, but look for like-minded people and don’t forget that everything you do, all the experience and lessons you receive will definitely be useful to you in the future.
This experience continues to help me today, including here on X.
I won’t reveal my username or content, I just wanted to share this story!
