The first split of the year was won without further complications: 2nd place on the League Stage, a 3x1 vs Akroma on the Semifinals and 3x1 against Mandatory on the Grand Final got them proclaimed as the best team of France. However, if they didn't win the second split aswell, they will fail on their Ascension's qualification journey. It didn't start well, as they lost their first two matches, leaving them on a tight spot. Nevertheless, they recomposed themselves and managed to won the next four games. They lost their last League Stage match, but that didn't matter at all, as they qualified to the Playoffs being the 4th seed. This made them fight against best team on the League Stage, Zerance, on the Semifinals. The first map was a hard 13-5 defeat on Split, but they did not surrender and proceeded to win the three consecutive maps, finishing the job with a 2-13 win on Icebox. Grand Finals were against Valiant: the winner gets a spot on Ascension, the loser will have to fight for it on the Ascension Play-Ins. They managed really well the pressure they had, winning 3x0 the series without conceding more than six rounds on each map. 🔎 Meet the Ascension Candidates #2: Barça eSports 🌍: EMEA -> VCL Spain 🇪🇸 (👤) @LucasRojo x @meisoNFPS (⚔) @maniekVAL (⚡) @GuardyVAL (💨) @kpzetbtw (🔐) @SaizSkills (🃏) @Vorwenn [IGL] In order to achieve Ascension, the spanish organization needed to win the Second VCL Split, in which they were not favourites at all - people had KPI and UCAM over them. With a solid 2nd place on the League Stage, they now had to finish the job on the Playoffs. They were already on the Semifinals due to the seeding, and their rival there was KPI. A KPI that came with the momentum of winning against FALKE on the previous round. But that wasn't enough, as Barça won 3x2 an advanced to the Grand Final, against UCAM. Whoever wins the Grand Final would go automatically to ascension, and the team that loses will be out of competition due to KPI already being the Play-In team thanks to VCL points. UCAM went on matchpoint with a 2x1 lead, but Barça didn't give up and tied the series 2x2 with a win on Ascent. Split was the decider, and Barça finished their comeback with a 13-9 that gave them the spot for Ascension. I had the pleasure to talk with Barça's Head Coach, @LucasRojo, and when I asked him if they were looking forward to face an specific team, he replied: "We don't want to face anyone in particular, if you want to be the best you have to win against everyone." Meet the Ascension Candidates #15: All Knights 🌍: AMERICAS -> VCL Latin America South 🇦🇷🇨🇱 (👤) @ZONYKfps x @bionefps (⚔) @Dantedeu5 (⚡) @adversogg (💨) @Cebando_ (🔐) @tinchoffvlr (🃏) @NicoMachine_ After getting a 2nd place on the first split, they had almost seccured the spot for VCL LATAM Playoffs, but nothing was done yet. In order to qualify and guarantee the first seed, they needed to win the second split. And they did it, after going undefeated on the Group Stage and with a tough loss on the first Playoffs round, they made a Lower Bracket run that ended with a 3x1 win against 9z in a match where every map ended 13-11. They headed to LATAM Playoffs as favorites, and they showed why with a win over E-XOLOS, but on the decider match they lost against RETA 3x2 after being 0x2 up on the scoreboard. Nevertheless, they had one last chance, another match against E-XOLOS to decide the last LATAM Ascension Spot. Another tough series for All Knights, but no matter what they managed to win 3x2 and to seccure their flight to Monterrey. Best of luck @allknightsla!

After today's match, #LANDODGERS were disqualified from SOOP's tournament due to, as they say, "using third party software". When asking for proof of this, they just ignore our messages or not answer to what we ask (the player who they say used third party software was not banned in game) This accusation caused @solo88_val and his teammates not be able to compete for a VCL SEA spot. As you see, for this severe punishment, we expect at least an explanation, something minimium that should be given without asking for it. Any help on getting this solved is really helpful 🙏 @SOOP_EN

🔎 Meet the Ascension Candidates #8: Dsyre 🌍: EMEA -> VCL Italy 🇮🇹 (👤) @simozVAL x @arianzin1 (⚔) @FiluVAL (⚡) @waddlefps (💨) @caydenVAL (🔐) @TaggVal (🃏) @real_wackie They started this year winning the 1st VCL Split with a 14W0L record on the League Stage and a 3x1 against VX300 followed by a 3x1 win against NOVO on the Grand Finals. But the next split they did something amazing, something that they almost managed to get on the previous split: they completed a flawless split. And I am not talking about "flawless" with the connotation of not losing a single match no, they didn't drop a map on the whole VCL split. Firstly, they won the League Stage 14W0L, but they were not qualified to Ascension yet. On Playoffs they faced NOVO twice, winning both matches 3x0 and getting crowned as Italian champions for the third time in a row. To understand why we have to go back to VCL 2022, or should I say VRL. On 2022, they won both splits' League Stage, but failed to win a single match on Playoffs (just an FF victory against Wave). It is the year 2023, and it happened almost the same thing: they won both splits' Regular Stage, but failed to win the whole competition, coming at 4th and 2nd place. 2024 started very similar, as they won the first split' League Stage with a flawless record (9W0L) but lost the grand final. Even though, they got enough points to achieve Ascension only if they won the next VCL Split. This split was the opposite to the other ones, as this was the first split in which they didn't win the League Stage, they ended on 3rd place. That's what broke the "curse" they had, making them win their first VCL Split after 5 League Stage wins. They also defeated CGN on the Grand Final, a team who defeated MOUZ on the Grand Finals the previous two splits. They failed to qualify for the 1st VCL Split, so they rebuilt the roster and started playing Premier to have a spot on Split 2 Relegations. They obtained the first seed and defeated TNT, Eternal Fire and NAPOLEON in order to obtain a VCL spot. For being their first VCL split together, they did pretty good on the League Stage, showing consistence and managing to end on 4th place with a 6W3L record. But they did even better on Playoffs. Firstly, they won against Galakticos and after that they obtained a 2x0 victory against the favorites, Fire Flux. Then they proceeded to win the Upper Bracket Final 2x1 vs HOWL, also their rivals on the Grand Finals. Both teams needed to win to have a spot on Ascension, because the Play-In spot was already seccured by Galakticos. PCIFIC won the Grand Finals 3x1 and showed to the world why you shouldn't subestimate any oponent, no matter where they come from. After winning three consecutive VCL Splits and winning the League Stage of the latest one, they lost the Grand Final against MOUZ, which consecuence was being just short on points to qualify directly to Ascension but seccured a spot on the Play-In. They faced NOVO and PPP on the Group Stage, beating both teams 2x0 and advancing to the Playoffs. There they met Galakticos on a tough series which ended 2x1 for CGN, meaning they will advance to the Grand Finals. Here was waiting the fan-favorite KPI Gaming, the spanish team. But they didn't feel any pressure, as they proceeded to defeat them 3x0 and seccured a spot on the Ascension. On their playoff run, they won 2x1 against IGW, and then they proceeded to 2x0 and 3x0 PPP on the Upper Bracket Final and Grand Final, respectively. Meet the Ascension Candidates #12: RETA Esports 🌍: AMERICAS -> VCL Latin America North 🇲🇽🇨🇴 (👤) @wknfps x @jomanfps (⚔) @snwzera (⚡) @murizzzzz [IGL] (💨) @delz1k (🔐) @nagzet (🃏) @sutherfps After building arguably the strongest team of all Latin America North, RETA showed their strength since the start of the year. They won the 1st Split and headed as favorites to win the 2nd one as well, but E-XOLOS managed to take the title from them with a 3x2 victory. Nevertheless, they qualified to the LATAM Finals. Two teams from LATAM North and two from LATAM South will have to battle for two Ascension spots. As they were the number one seed from LATAM North, they faced the number two seed from LATAM South, which was 9z, and ended on a 2x0 victory for RETA. They now had to fight All Knights directly for an Ascension spot, as the winner will get it and the loser will have another chance against the winner of 9z vs E-XOLOS. This was a matchup between the two number one seeds. It started really rough for RETA, as they lost the first two maps, going to matchpoint with a 0x2. Even though, they managed the impossible: they reversed sweep All Knights to turn the tables and end the match with a 3x2 and obtain that Ascension spot. Best of luck @retaesports!

Second Split was a bit different, as they lost a match against Sweet N Sour on a shocking way, but that was not enough to make them lose the 1st place on the League Stage. And again, they made a flawless Playoff Stage , without dropping any map, to be proclaimed as VCL North Champions. Last year they ended on 2nd place on the Ascension, can they get revenge this year? This is unacceptable. Celo was noticed on friday that they had until MONDAY AT 6PM to have an organization behind ex-SAW, if not, they would lose the spot that they fought to get. They didn’t allow us to have just some extra days to try to get a deal done. Not a single hour. Sadly we couldn’t reach an agreement on that short time and now a team that could easily be the best on the league is left out of the equation, with uncertainty surrounding them. I am so sorry @celogVAL and the players that had hunger to compete on this new league and that got their dreams taken away, and thank you for trusting me to try and get something sealed this weekend. Hopefully a solution can be found before the vcl qualifier starts.

But here they made a roster change: they signed Alex 'alexiiik' Hawlasek from Enterprise. After this move was made, they didn't lose a single match of the League Stage, ending on 4th place with a 6W3L record. But that was not just it, they went undefeated on Playoffs, defeating ESC Gaming and Acend on the First Phase, and Zero Tenacity, Diamant and Chipi Chapa's on the Second Phase to win the first split. The second split was even better, as they just lost one match on the entire split, and it was on the League Stage against Acend. This made them go to Playoffs as the number one seed. They started their Playoffs run on the Second Phase Upper Semifinals, where they defeated Trashcan 2x1 with a bit of drama due to losing the first map on overtime. The Upper Finals were their revenge against Acend, and they delivered a 2x1 victory that sent Acend onto the lower bracket and it also sent GoNext to ascension directly due to VCL East points. Grand Final day was, and they were facing a Diamant that started very strong on the series, winning the first map 3-13. But after that, the match was controlled by GoNext, as they proceeded to win three consecutive maps and be proclaimed, the second time in a row, champions of the East. Since the 4th of June, GoNext hasn't lost a match, can they maintain the winning streak? Best of luck @GoNextEsports!

🔎 Meet the Ascension Candidates #10: The Ultimates 🌍: EMEA -> VCL MENA 🇸🇦 (👤) ??? (⚔) @Bassamszz (⚡) @SpYzera (💨) @Mohvalo (🔐) @sandfps (🃏) @khaalidval Former Team Falcons roster (minus “FighteR” who replaces “Akai”) didn’t have a comfortable run to the Ascension. After winning both splits on VCL GCC & Iraq, and winning a Saudi eLeague on the middle of the journey, they headed to the MENA Finals. Here they defeated NASR and R8 to advance to the Grane Finals. Winner goes to Ascension and the loser is headed to the Ascension Play-Ins. They encountered R8 for this Ascension spot, and went 2x2 heading to the last map, Sunset. After a close series, they won 13-11 to have the right to play agianst the best teams from Europe. Most of the people don’t have them as the favorites to win, can they prove them wrong? Meet the Ascension Candidates #13: Galorys 🌍: AMERICAS -> VCL Brazil 🇧🇷 (👤) @shaw_vlr (⚔) @sato_pequeno (⚡) @Evilkyk (💨) @luk_xoxo (🔐) @roodfps (🃏) @Urangofps [IGL] They started the year with a 6th place, but that didn't matter at all on the brazilian league, since the winner of split 2 will make it to Ascension. And that was the objective, but things started really roughly, as they finished the League Stage on 8th place, just avoiding relegation by one win, gotten on the last matchup. Nevertheless, they did an amazing job on the Play-In, defeating Hero Base and XLD in order to make it to Playoffs. And here, they contniued their run, beating RED Canids and 2Game before losing against The 7 on the UB Final. They where against the ropes, but they managed to win twice against 2Game to seccure the spot on Grand Finals. The 7 needed to win, and so Galorys, because both of them wouldn't have made it through points. Galorys' rivals hit first, but then they got three consecutive maps to win the 2nd Split and a ticket to Ascension. Best of luck @galorysgg!

However, that didn't matter as they qualified to the Challenger Playoffs, where the top 2 would make it to Ascension. First round, they lose 0x2 against M80 and they were left against the ropes. A miraculous lower bracket run was needed. And they did it: 2x1 vs SaD, 2x0 against Blinn Esports and a 2x0 against Oxygen made them advance to the last decisive match. They had to play against MxS for an Ascension spot. First map was an overtime lose, but they recovered from the strike and won the series 2x1 to seccure the Ascension Spot. The last match, against M80, didn't count for anything, and they lost it 2x0, but they didnt lose the opportunity to represent North America on the Ascension. Best of luck @TSM!

After going 3-0 on the Upper Swiss Phase, they lost vs Liquid Academy, which sent them to the Lower Bracket. 🔎 Meet the Ascension Candidates #11: M80 🌍: AMERICAS -> VCL North America 🇺🇸 🇨🇦 (👤) @Happy1 x @gunterispenguin (⚔) @koalanoob (⚡) @BcJFPS (💨) @zander_fps (🔐) @neT_valorant (🃏) @NiSMO_VAL After a 2nd finish on last year's Ascension, M80 is back to pursue that VCT spot. They did a decent League Stage, ending both VCL Splits on 3rd-4th place, and got a 3rd-4th place on the Mid Season Cup as well. This made them qualify for the North America Challenger Playoffs, where the top two teams will qualify to the Asension. It was a double elimination bracket, but they didn't need the lower bracket. They performed really well during the tournament, as they managed to beat TSM 2x0 on the Upper Quarterfinals, 2x1 against Oxygen and, on the decisive match against Moist x Shopify, where the winner qualified to Ascension, they beat them 2x0 to obtain that precious spot. Lastly, they played the Grand Final against the other qualified team, TSM, on a match just for seeding and getting more money. They won it too by 2x0 and got crowned as the best team from North America. Best of luck @M80gg!

Meet the Ascension Candidates #16: 2GAME Esports 🌍: AMERICAS -> VCL Brazil 🇧🇷 (👤) @faithz0rvlr x @Yushivlr (⚔) @spikezinho_ (⚡) @luispryzee (💨) @lzvlr_ (🔐) @zapvlr [IGL] (🃏) @silentzfps After a 3rd place finish on the 1st Split, they needed to keep up with the good results in order to qualify to Ascension. On the second split, things turned out great at first, because they managed to win the League Stage (as they did on the 1st one), but on the first matchup of Playoffs they lost against Galorys. They then proceeded to win against TBK and Stellae, and were one match away from qualifying. They could get revenge against Galorys, but they fell short and lost the match. Nevertheless, there was still hope as they would qualify with one scenario: Galorys winning the Grand Final. If Galorys win, 2GAME would have qualified due to VCL Points, but if The 7 win, the VCL Points qualified will be Galorys. The best outcome for them happened, as Galorys won 3x1 the Grand Final and gave 2GAME the chance to represent Brazil at Ascension. Best of luck @2gameesports_br!
