After 8 months of building in stealth and testing our infrastructure on 10000+ hours of real-world data and hundreds of unique environments, we're bringing @fpv_labs into the open today. FPV Labs started with the following bet - if human data proves to be the underlying factor that determines scaling laws in general-purpose robotics, it will trigger the largest economic transformation in human history, and the underlying infrastructure that captures that data will determine how fast we get there. We will achieve this by building the full-stack infrastructure for capturing, processing, transferring, and evaluating human experience into spatial, temporal, and semantic knowledge for machines. Despite all the research novelty behind ChatGPT, its success can be attributed to one foundational fact - the scaling law of transformers. We believe the same dynamics have made their way into robotics. Recent studies showed task completion rates jumping from 30% to 70% when human demonstration data scaled from 1,000 to 20,000 hours, a log-linear trend that mirrors exactly what we saw in language and vision. Seeing these emergent signs of scaling law curves in robotics, we believe we are entering the era of general-purpose robotics policies, which makes the next few years the most exciting time in the history of this field. But the library of physical interactions required to train general-purpose robot policies does not exist yet. Over the last 8 months, we've seen dozens of companies emerge in this space. We were really happy to see new companies pushing this space forward, but we also saw the same pattern repeat: every egocentric data company was making some tradeoffs between quality, scale, and diversity. We have built FPV labs on the core principle that high-quality data is orders of magnitude more valuable than sheer volume. Case in point, self-driving cars collect thousands of hours of data per day, but only a small fraction of that data is actually useful for training better models. Several studies, like RT-2, have shown that as little as 1% of data improves as much as 25% on task success. The quality and diversity of data matter a lot more than scale, so there is clearly a power law curve in the downstream impact of data. We've spent months obsessing over data quality by building our stack, discarding it, rebuilding it, and iterating until we found a formula that doesn't compromise downstream quality at scale. We believe the downstream impact here is far more profound than most people realize. Workers globally are paid around $60 trillion per year in aggregate, and a lion's share of that compensation goes to physical labor - tasks that require navigating real spaces, manipulating real objects, and negotiating the infinite variability of the physical world. Human-to-robot transfer will be one of the most important infrastructures that will shape our society in the near future, and if it works, the economic impact will dwarf every technology transition that came before it in an exponential manner and lead to the creation of goods and services we can’t imagine today. Our mission is to lay the groundwork for us to transition into this future - the future of abundance. We are deeply grateful to our earliest believers, @paraschopra and @lossfunk, who played a critical role in shaping our thinking.

After a long hiatus, I’m super excited to announce that I am joining as a founding advisor at @HYCHAIN_GAMES to work closely with the @hytopia team and build out their broader gaming ecosystem. I have been working behind the doors for the last few months, laying out the broader strategy and approach for us to build out the key pillars around distribution, ecosystem development, investments, and overall organizational setup to establish Hychain as a leading game publishing titan. Been working very closely with @iamarkdev for the last 4 months after we connected on a shared vision and within a few conversations, it was very clear from his speed of execution and first-principle thinking that he is one of the sharpest founders I have met in the space. I have met hundreds of founders over the last 2 years but Arkdev clearly stands out as an astute leader. Hytopia is probably the most ambitious undertaking in Web3. To come back from a near-death moment when Minecraft banned them, to building their own bottom-up Voxel-style game to compete with the incumbent itself is probably the best comeback story in Web3. Voxel games have over 400mm + players globally and Minecraft last boasted ~150M MAU and stands out as the most played and the most watched game for Genz and GenX. It has had a sharp decline in development and creator support since Minecraft acquired it years ago, leaving it old, outdated, and ripe for Hytopia to take over the incumbent. It’s an uphill journey with a lot of headwinds but if Hytopia succeeds in this endeavor, this will probably be the biggest win, not just for Hytopia but web3 in general. It will set a new precedence for small teams coming with fewer resources to not be afraid of behemoths. It’s a mission that the team deeply resonates with. I have also been following the @tryMetaFab developments since my earliest interactions with Arkdev, which stood out to me as a leading infra suite for developers with no prior blockchain experience to build in Web3. Metafab was open-sourced ever since and got 1200+ developers using it across multiple chains and saw millions of monthly API calls at its peak. There are a ton of competitive advantages that Metafab unlocks by allowing developers of all skill levels to tap into an ecosystem with growing player liquidity. On the demand side, Hychain has already started working deeply and discussing strategic relationships with some of the largest gaming distributors, guilds, esports teams, creators, and large Web2 platforms to build out our distribution networks and attract more player liquidity into our ecosystem. Hychain is the convergence of all of the above pieces into a singular ecosystem. I think the focus on building a large UGC ecosystem won't stop at HYTOPIA, but that HYCHAIN will become an attractive hub for other similar games due to our tooling, distribution, and network effects around players. Super super stoked to be working closely with the heavy-hitter Hytopia team, community, and all the friends I have worked with in the past to become the most attractive hub for game developers to build with us.

I have lately been spending some time reading about 1/1 curated art marketplaces. The one that I found the most fascinating is @SuperRare which recently converted to a Dao-run curated art marketplace. Let's dig into its history, on-chain data, and fundamentals. Thread.

Been working with this team for some time so I guess I have the permission to attest to everything @iamarkdev said and share an inside view on how this team operates. In the past, I have built 2 major startups in the last 9 years and have invested in many high-quality teams in the last cycle, but this team is built differently - thoughts on the team and why I think we have a winning team to conquer the blockchain gaming world below - 1. Raw intelligence and proven operating experience - Every single team member on @hytopia and @HYCHAIN_GAMES are not just some of the smartest folks I have met in the space but they bring in years of proven operating experience across gaming, game engine development, infrastructure, and ecosystem development across both web2 and web3 2. Extremely first principle thinking and operating at a speed that justifies making lots of mistakes - very iterative feedback loops driven culture and zero tolerance for paralysis analysis - Plan -> execute -> fail -> learn -> repeat is the mantra. There’s a famous saying by @sama - being quick, decisive, and getting things done quickly correlate to a lot of successful founders and all of us in the team operate with the same principle. 3. Extremely lean and nimble team structure where most team members operate as generalists and wear multiple hats across the board - zero bureaucracy and no squatting on ideas for weeks - eg. we took a lot of really high-value decisions in the last 30 days across many verticals (past experiences, it would take months to take such decisions) 4. ArkDev leads by example and has utmost clarity in what he wants to achieve 5 years from now. He is also the most resilient founder I have met - he is very clear that he is playing the long game and he is in to win it. It was very evident from the time Minecraft banned NFT Worlds but being on the inside brought a lot of validation with his operating style - the team could have wrapped up, taken the funds, and sunsetted the business, but they took the harder route. Says a lot about @iamarkdev and @Temptranquil and I have the utmost respect for both. 5. Flat org structure, no reporting ladders - there's no place for middlemen - everyone on the team is both a thinker and a doer and most importantly maintains the highest levels of accountability to everyone else. 6. Not afraid of incumbents - The team knows we are working against a lot of headwinds and that it will be an uphill battle but every single person on the team still feels like they have a true calling to build the largest web3 gaming company and desperately want to champion this mission. 7. Growth growth growth - everyone on the team is laser-focused on growth and key metrics that drive them - there are a lot of key metrics that you will see growing exponentially within Hychain and Hytopia over the next few months namely new user growth, retention, new features shipped, new games in our pipeline, on-chain activity etc etc 8. The company runs like a professional sports team - there’s literally an Olympian-style work ethic on the team and literally everyone on the team is heavily focused on performance. Again, kudos to Arkdev and Max for making this the default DNA of the company. 9. High accountability and transparency to the community and very community-centric DNA - eg. most decisions are valued from the perspective of how the community will respond and how we can make it more welcoming to them. We deeply deeply care about the community and this probably is the single biggest criterion for the amazing and welcoming community members that Hytopia has nurtured over the last 2 years. Okay, that’s all. Really happy that I get to build with such battle-scarred, amazing people but it's still a long uphill battle from here, and the journey has just begun. P.S. If you want to join this rockstar team, we are hiring across multiple verticals for full-time positions at Hychain - biz dev, ecosystem support, marketing, social media, research, etc. More details on the openings to come in the next post but DM’s open if you want to send an open invitation for a role at @HYCHAIN_GAMES.
HYCHAIN Node Key Sale Is Live + My Thoughts You can mint them at nodes.hychain.com --- My Thoughts On HYCHAIN.. Before we start, I pose the question - What do you think it takes to build the largest platform for blockchain enabled games in the world? @HYCHAIN_GAMES is positioning to attempt to bring existing and in-development games with the largest potential for global adoption to web3 through our layer 2 chain powered by arbitrum's anytrust technology & our own proprietary infrastructure. Currently, @hytopia is set to be one of the largest titles on @HYCHAIN_GAMES, with over 1.2m player accounts currently pre-registered for our beta. To be clear, I'm one of the founders of @HYCHAIN_GAMES and @hytopia. We think that HYCHAIN has a shot, but no guarantee, to execute & be a top destination for games integrating some or many aspects of web3/blockchain. Before we dive into HYCHAIN's details... Context about our team & I's background feels relevant. A bit about me and my experience... I come from a 16+ year background of founding startups across the apps, games and ecom categories. I've been lucky enough to have 4 of these companies acquired in significant outcomes by publicly traded companies or private entities, with 3 of them I think being specifically relevant to building HYCHAIN. The main driver for these acquisitions has been building companies that position and achieve mass market share in emerging markets. For me this was the mobile apps, mobile games & social commerce spaces when they were first becoming a big deal. To do this, I had to learn how to relentlessly iterate and discover growth hacks for massive DAU/MAU/Revenue/Sales in these markets. 1. The apps business my team & I drove a portfolio of some of the top apps in the first few years of the Android / iOS app store, with 10's of millions of users across our titles at peak before being acquired. Learning growth hacking on $0 to minimal dollar budgets here was critical. 2. The game business my team & I grew from 0 to 15,000,000+ DAILY ACTIVE USERS in the first 2 weeks of launch. Figuring out how to hit key areas of demand, and more important create the mechanics that strongly retained players/users and created viral flywheels was critical. 3. The ecommerce business we built the first platform that allowed buying & selling of products at scale on FB and Instagram 100,000+ registered small/medium businesses globally. We processed many millions in sales volume. Learning sales funnels & incentive alignment was critical. --- I am always trying to learn and disprove myself, but I do believe these historical experiences of building companies in relevant markets aligns and gives perspective in being able to recognize how our team should prioritize to have a chance to out-execute all others trying to be the biggest chain for gaming. While I in no way think my opinions are always right, so many iterations leading to both failure and success have helped hone my senses of what could work and what won't. Lastly, I don't like talking about myself much unless necessary for context. 😅 I do want to share my thoughts of leaders in our team too. 🙏 1. @Temptranquil is a powerhouse with a bunch of parallel business experience from his upbringing, and cares deeply about making sure we operate as by the book for positioning us both legally, financially and strategically for long term success. 2. @levelheaded_94 although just recently joining, is an extremely proven operator already in the web3 space, having taken @IndiGG_DAO to one of the biggest web3 gaming guilds previously before it was acquired. They have lead the charge of HYCHAIN's non-technical aspects to date and execute with tact, precision and speed. 3. @jahvi and @0x_Something are some of the most down to earth and talented / dedicated full stack devs I've had the pleasure to work with. They both have extreme attention to detail, are very agile & fast, and produce very quality code - having all 3 being quite rare. 4. @DannPetty is bar none the best designer and design guru I have ever worked with. His work is top class, he nails absolutely everything he does, he is one of the chillest people I've worked with. He has an eye for flow, UX, details, ideas, and so much more. 5. @erodwrld has been with us for quite a while, we've thrown him head first into so many tasks and he's owned them and executed no matter what it is we put him against. He is resilient, hungry to learn & drive results, and deeply understands our community. 6. Matt (Who's twitter handle I can't find, lol) is an extremely talented self taught dev who we can put on any task and have high confidence of them executing in a very timely manner. No matter the challenge he owns it, contributes non-stop, brings the comedy and "gets shit done" 7. The next person, who I'll call J for now until we share them publicly later, is the best blockchain + solidity dev I have met. They've worked with the biggest web3 game platforms in the space, have been instrumental in system architecting, and drive much of HYCHAIN technicals 8. @wusticality who recently joined us and is our resident game engine extraordinaire brings 20+ years of game & engine development experience, understanding gameplay loops, engine fundamentals, and having built some of the largest mobile games ever on iOS. 9. This isn't the entirety of our team, and I want to be clear that everyone who's with us has proven themselves and their ability to execute, be agile and communicate and work strongly together as a team. Just a shout to our team & mods - none of this is possible without you. -- All of this I see as packaged into a tight knit, lean and efficiently operating machine with the relevant experience across parallel verticals of business to have a shot at building something magical. Now onto HYCHAIN... With HYCHAIN, we're focused on a few key areas to offer an overall vertically integrated stack for web3 gaming... 1. Developer tooling Convincing large web2 games, indie devs, and fantastic games to build in web3 is difficult, the lack of these dev's experience with existing low level tooling & writing smart contracts makes it even moreso. HYCHAIN's developer APIs stem from much of what we learned building trymetafab.com - intended to simplify otherwise complex, low level solidity systems for things like account abstraction, on chain game currencies, items, marketplaces, lootboxes, and more into simple, very well documented REST-based API's that any developer is familiar with using. This also means devs need to be able to trigger in-game transactions, player actions in a permissioned way through automated API interactions while retaining an overall decentralized implementation with how we've architected these systems. 2. Frictionless player UX Convincing millions of gamers to play a game is already incredibly difficult.. If you throw a barrier of them needing to manage their own wallet, tokens for gas, understanding transactions, and more, then you're fighting an even more uphill battle. HYCHAIN is building a set of interconnected systems that remove the need for players to directly manage their wallet, while still having full self-custody over their account keys that control their on-chain ERC4337 based wallet from our account abstraction wallet implementation. What this ultimately means for players, is that any game on HYCHAIN they can sign into using their HYPLAY account, which will support social login with Discord, Twitter/X, Google, Facebook and more. All their game tokens & assets exist under the singular account, and are strictly permissioned to the games they play through a simple point/click system pioneered by HYCHAIN. You can review our wallet implementation which unlocks things like recurring subscription, session based permissioning, and more here: github.com/HYCHAIN/wallet You can learn more about HYPLAY here: docs.hychain.com/docs/hychai… 3. High retention games & distribution Retention is key for games to succeed. When we look at potential partner games, our team uses their deep experience in vetting gameplay loops to identify ideal games that are likely to yield mass adoption & retention. We're focused exclusively on partnering games that can survive for years to come, and bring mass onboardings into the HYCHAIN ecosystem & HYPLAY player-facing systems. We're also building a massive web2 + web3 KOL & influencer network to aid in distribution of games. Last but not least, HYPLAY acts as a cross-pollination mechanism for players on other games within HYCHAIN to discover and easily play new games that come to HYCHAIN as well. 4. Cost efficiency at millions of players scale for games Expecting players to cover gas fees to play games is a big point of friction. Expecting developers to cover gas fees when they're dealing with hundreds of thousands to millions of active players is cost prohibitive, especially for mass adoption focused free to play games. HYCHAIN offloads this through our proprietary mechanisms that allows games to route player transaction through a gas subsidization RPC the HYCHAIN Foundation operates, completely covering the costs for players and games up front. HYCHAIN recoups tokens spent to cover transactions through fee structures for on-chain liquidity pools, marketplace, mints, fiat onramps, and more. 5. Liquidity interop across games Because all games on HYCHAIN operate their account systems through HYPLAY, players have a singular account containing all of their $USDC, game tokens and other game assets. Players should be able to use HYPLAY single sign on to play any game on HYCHAIN, if players want to purchase content or items from a current game they're playing, they should be able to use game tokens or game items they hold in their account from other games to get immediate liquidity to make purchase, in an automated way. This could give players a highly flexible way to interop across games, and gives developers access to an existing player ecosystem with liquidity at the ready to buy in-game content. 6. USDC based game marketplace This is the most significant unlock we see that blockchain brings that is otherwise not possible with other technologies. The ability for game items and marketplaces to be traded using USDC creates a historically first opportunity for game developers and publishers to also participate in the speculative nature of scarce game items and high-demand content traded amongst players. Realizing secondary royalties on trades as a continued revenue mechanism, and creating systems that further entrench players in the overall ecosystem. This has not been possible with prior technologies, because game developers would be responsible for custodying dollars and game items players own, with the former custodying of dollars putting them at risk with strict banking laws. Self-custody with on-chain wallets solves this, as the game publisher & platform have no control over player $USDC and player owned game content. CS:GO and many large MMORPGs to date prove significant opportunity here, where players have used 3rd party websites to trade and buy/sell items and content in USD. 7. Flywheels, everywhere As we continue to build out HYCHAIN, we're focused on creating continued flywheels to maximize player inbound, distribution opportunity for games, and more. We see this as critical to make the compounding effects to gain mass marketshare. 8. Our Chain Last but not least, HYCHAIN's blockchain is being built as a shared L2 where our future partner games will launch their on-chain systems, player accounts, and more. All underpinned and powered by Arbitrum's AnyTrust technology. ---- All of these key insights, and collective decades of relevant experience across the team, as well as how we've focused on continued execution internally across products like HYTOPIA & trymetafab.com makes me believe we have a shot at becoming a leading L2 and overall destination for web3 gaming. Whether we succeed or not, it's going to continue to be a wild ride🫡

Just settling down after a long week at GDC. GDC had a different spirit this time compared to last year. 2023 was more gloomy overall in the middle of a bear market. There were a lot of tourists who wanted to ride the bull and make quick dollars. The last bear cycle cleansed that cohort. Lots of high value founders who were disciplined with their cash and playing the long game still building really high quality games from the collective market cleansing. It includes founders who have a really strong thesis on how web3 will play a key role in their game and are integrating them with a long term vantage point - they come from a multi-year gaming background in web2 and are crafting out their web3 strategies very carefully Example - We met a multi-year gaming veteran that is building one of the most ambitious shooting games. They have previously scaled games to 100mn+ MAU and know to build games that are entertainment first. These are the kind of studios that will create a new benchmark for web3 games from farming type games (eg - pixels) to blockchain games also being more mid core and hard core and at the same time, having a high spectatorship audience. The current state of games are not spectator friendly at all and they miss out on their ability to build a captivating esports community around it. We met another shooter game that’s building a really interesting anime shooter which is similar to hoyoverse. Hoyoverse scaled to $2bn in annualised revenues last year. We met some founders who would be an amazing fit for Hytopia and building exciting immersive gaming experiences on top of it as we release into open beta. It feels like a lots of guilds and games in web3 will build worlds on top of Hytopia as we release into open beta. There seems to be a lot of demand from game devs to have a partner that has player liquidity, the right infra and the right community that can help them grow meaningfully in web3 There are a ton of interesting games that we are currently working with to flesh out their needs and see how they fit within the Hychain ecosystem. We are being very selective with the first set of games that we release as it will set a strong precedence in the market. Our team also spent the last week in person at GDC and put together a strategy to knock down a few important things that are imperative for us to fix/build, to become the preferred web3 publishing partner for games. Example - 1. Working on a strategy for a cex listing for $topia which will significantly boost up our ability to onboard more people to $topia. Currently $topia is only tradeable on dex with no cex listing yet. There are 3 problems with this - i. High gas fees on Ethereum ii. High friction tech to purchase $topia which will be used for many important things in the future included (redacted) iii. Difficult for the retail to enter into the Hychain ecosystem This is an important problem to solve for, to help Hytopia scale to millions of users that own $topia 2. Building a new vertical that will further empower our community more in the upcoming days. Building a grassroots community network for Hytopia and Hychain are amongst those things. 3. Launching the Hychain creator program which will reward creators to build more awareness around Hychain, our frictionless tech, Hytopia, future partner games, (redacted 1), (redacted 2) etc. This will include ambitious creators from our own community who have been on the fence about becoming a full time content creator with Hychain/Hytopia and other KOL’s who worked with us previously with the node sale. Other than the above items stated above, we discussed many more high priority items. My highlight was for this month was meeting @iamarkdev, @Temptranquil and @erodwrld who I met for the first time in person and I have more conviction than ever on this team to become a trailblazer for web3 gaming.

Hychain business updates and thoughts on the convergence of mobile and web3 I've been away from Twitter last month, and heads down focused on bringing more structure and momentum to our business development efforts. Our publishing efforts are heavily contingent on the quality and success of the IPs we bring to Hychain. Gaming, like venture businesses, is a hits-driven industry. An extreme power law exists here in terms of the market share captured by the top percentile of games. It's imperative we focus on backing games that have the potential to be in the top 1% of web3 games. Many chains made the mistake of spreading themselves too thin in the last cycle and eventually struggled to retain these titles. The more chains get commoditized, the less chains matter IMO as it’s not the chain/tech that adds value but the players, GTM, and ability to capture attention in a sustained way. Happy to announce that @HYCHAIN_GAMES is in a really good stage in terms of our pipeline velocity and the quality of games we are chatting with. We're very close to locking in the next cohort of games getting onboarded to Hychain. The next 3-6 months are going to be busy months for Hychain with a series of big announcements. Big IPs, big titles, studio partnerships, and more diversified genres of games soon to Hychain. I also think the systems we introduce via Loot Legends in the coming months will shape how games integrate blockchain into mobile games. This will probably be one of the most sophisticated convergences of mobile and Web3 games. I can probably write a full article on how mobile and web3 unlock an inflection point in web3 but the TLDR is as follows - Take out some time and Google ‘why gamers hate free-to-play games' and you’ll see that gamers hating NFTs today are not very different from how gamers hated free-to-play (F2P) games. In fact, there was a point when F2P gamers were so hated that in 2015, a leading gaming publication (gamesIndustry.biz) thought Apple might remove F2P games from the app stores. Apple made over $50bn in Appstore gaming revenue in 2022 and F2P today is north of $110bn market. Despite the bottleneck and heavy criticism, F2P games took off when tech became more sophisticated on mobile and distribution rails got unlocked. Mobile and Web3 have a similar problem statement today. They have the same criticism and are largely limited due to siloed tech, broken infrastructure, and poor execution. Add to it the poor quality of mobile games backed by subpar entertainment value who only care about token marketing without any actual product. I think @LootLegendsGame could create a strong playbook that defines how mobile and Web3 converge. P.S. We also locked our second game at Hychain. This one will heavily focus on being a mini-game that could leverage the distribution capabilities of alternate channels and onboard a large group of casual and semi-casual players to Web3. Excited to announce this soon.

I wouldn't be surprised if the first game on Hychain ends up being one of the top games by DAU/MAU and other relevant metrics in the whole of web3 - I think it has all the catalysts to get there - - runs on low-tier mobile devices - fully gasless - invisible blockchain layer - 100's of hours of content - baked-in social dynamics - deep progression systems to give players a strong purpose and goal - fully playable state Not long before people start waking up to Hychain.

Really happy to be back at GDC after last year and meet the best founders in web3 gaming - I was so severely jet lagged but the energy levels are so infectious here that I survived the first 48 hours with just 4 hrs of sleep Also so many interesting things in store for @HYCHAIN_GAMES that we are super excited to announce to our community soon. I also think the market has not truly understood what we are building behind the scenes here and it feels good to be an underdog gaming chain in the space. We keep building until we are too good for them to ignore.

Stepping back to India from Token 2049. Sharing some common themes/discussions from the conference - 1. Everyone’s talking about telegram gaming because of the distribution unlock / it seems like the early Facebook days when everyone who launched Facebook games got millions of users in a matter of days or weeks. The big bone of contention here is the quality of users but Telegram games seem to be on everyone’s agenda 2. Grants are not as healthy as they were 1-2 years back / projects depending on chain hopping and grant hopping - not a great time to do that unless you are a top project, in which case projects get bespoke offers 3. Web3 gaming overall still does not have a clear winner yet - the opportunity is large for the team that cracks the code around a sustainable game with tokenized elements and real cash flow. 4. Didn’t find a lot of noise about on-chain gaming at the conference yet so it seems early but worth paying attention to. 5. Treat your NFT holders as a new category of gamers playing the metagame and not necessarily grinding in the game. It’s important to understand and adapt to the behaviors of these player archetypes - collectors, traders, aesthetic collectors, flippers / all of them play a large role in bringing more liquidity to the underlying game assets. Teams that understand blockchain as a new primitive rather than trying to compete with web2 games with skeuomorphic ideas will win in the long run. 6. Mobile gaming is a sea of red. In the post-ATT world with privacy changes, it is significantly difficult to target whales and monetise through IAPs, and accurately attribute ad spend. Consumer spending in mobile gaming declined 5% from 2021 to 2022 and continued to decline further by 2% from 2022 to 2023. This is a large opportunity for teams that unlock new UA for mobile 7. Tech is no longer a moat. Distribution is king. Teams that crack distribution will win long-term and command business with other teams. It has been proven time and again in the past but the recent telegram craze is a good reminder. 8. Asia continues to be the leader in web3 gaming as well. F2P business took off first in the East, with game devs in Korea, Japan, and China embracing the model until it finally made its way to the West. History doesn’t repeat but we are seeing similar patterns with higher web3 developers building in the East. TLDR - despite all the challenges, bottlenecks, etc - it seems fairly obvious that gaming will become bigger than today and as we spend more time, money, and attention in virtual worlds, people will naturally demand ownership of these assets and free market trading. Web3 games are not a replacement for traditional games but rather a progression. Developing fun games that drive engagement and retention remains the foundation of any game - be it Web2 or Web3. The real unlock seems to be all the unique ways in which game devs can offer ownership, community, and financialization of time, the result of which should be reduced CAC and higher LTV.

Excited to launch Hychain Trailblazers, which is dedicated to all the content creators of our ecosystem. This goes to written creators, video creators, audio creators, meme lords, animators, graphic artists, and community builders who have been contributing to the Hychain and Hytopia ecosystem. It’s an early attempt to add an incentive layer for the existing creators participating in the Hychain ecosystem and make the process more fun and gamified, as well as onboard new creators who bring fresh perspectives about our ecosystem. We will run this program in seasons to ensure we keep iterating on the overall offerings to creators. Season 1 runs for 30 days only for a select few shortlisted creators. The first batch is limited but intentional as we move towards scaling this to 1000’s of creators globally who cover different languages hopefully make it permissionless such that anyone who creates content about our ecosystem gets to win. We will be shortlisting the first batch over the course of this week after we get form participation and reach out to the shortlisted candidates with the next steps over email/twitter. Excited to grow this with all of you 🩷
Introducing HYCHAIN Trailblazers - Hychain's in-house creator program Season 1! 🌟 We're here to support and incentivize new creators while empowering our existing community members to become creators themselves. Join us and expand the Hychain ecosystem together!

Happy you took the time to do some research but let me help understand why Hychain is not just another L2 but an ecosystem built from the ground up to enable mass adoption - 1. Hychain is a vertically integrated L2 stack with all the other suites we built out to solve for throughput, fast txn, low gas - our L2 stack can manage millions of Mau’s, without gas costs ballooning to exorbitant rates and developers having to pay for no gas fees at all. 2. Hytopia is building its own bottom up version of a voxel style game with fairer economic distribution with creators (minecraft doesn’t solve for this) amongst all the other things - recommend reading this tweet to understand how we are solving so many problems that minecraft creators face - the problems faced by minecraft creators and players are really under addressed - nitter.app/hytopiagg/status/16744… 3. The team has been building for over 2 years with their own native game engine and didn’t give up when Minecraft banned them. Came back from our own near death moment and getting better and better with each passing day. Compounding plays out when we build businesses from ground up. The team heads down focused on shipping over the last 2 years without doing much marketing at all (probably why you never heard of us before) 4. The team developed Metafab from first hand problems we faced to build frictionless onboarding experiences for web2 gamers and saw 100k + active users during NFT world days, majority of them being web2 gamers. The tool was eventually spun off into a new infrastructure suite and was open sourced ever since and saw 1000+ developers using it and millions of monthly api calls/momth 5. Hychain is a convergence of all the above pieces into a vertically integrated L2 stack. We have our underlying chain, underlying infra stack which can help create frictionless experiences developers with no prior experience to build in web3, our own game engine, Hytopia platform which will give more creative freedom to developers and our own native player liquidity which developers can tap into as they enter our ecosystem. It has a lot of competitive advantages vis-a-vis other similar gaming chains which we should see play out over the next 12 months. It will capture value from Hytopia, creators who build on top of it and third party developers who get access to the growing user base and player liquidity. Let’s cover nodes now - 1. Nodes are helpful to bring the broader community to participate in validating the network and earn network fees from doing so. It decentralises network fees across node holders and lets them capture a value in the growth of the network. 2. The rewards are not limited to $topia but 25% of network fees will be distributed to node holders in perpetuity. The real upside will generate as the network grows and generates higher fees which will be distributed to node holders. 3. The node pricing structure is a progressive system which allows ecosystem participants to purchase keys at a discounted price. If you have been part of our ecosystem for long, you get WL points to participate in the sale. It’s not meant to sell all 50k keys immediately. The sale will continue in perpetuity and as the network grows, we will see more people entering and seeing value in holding the nodes even at later stage Happy to jump on call and give you more insights into what we have been building if that helps 🙏

@ashokawashere is definitely one of my favourite community members at @hytopia. She is a mother of two, always spreads good vibes on Discord, an insanely talented musician, first to try out the SDK, extremely high agency, ie, she does things permissionlessly (created the first 5 video tutorials which made us reach out to her), real fighter (came back from breast cancer and made a banger video). She is a classic embodiment of under-the-radar talent who can grow leaps and bounds from here if she gets the right opportunities. Go girl, and make everyone proud!
I am SO happy to finally share my latest video! Please give it a watch and share it with any devs you know who are looking into Hytopia. I’ll link it below 😬 Sorry for being somewhat absent for so long! The last 5 months of my life have been the hardest physically and mentally that I’ve ever had to endure. For those of you who don’t know, right after the last game jam I was diagnosed with breast cancer and had to put all of my video and game update plans on the back burner. After screenings, various testing, and appointments ultimately had to get a mastectomy (and am so happy to be cancer free now!) That said - posting this video means SO much to me because it means I’m finally at a place of relative normalcy again in my life - and the deep relief I feel because of that is something I could have never understood 5 months ago. Thank you guys for always supporting my content and encouraging me. It means a lot! Can’t wait to see what we all build together.

Excited to support @307naman who is building @NodeOps_App to offer a frictionless experience for anyone to run nodes with a single click.
🙌 Run Your HYCHAIN Nodes With @NodeOps_App 🙌 We are really excited to announce that we are partnering with NodeOps, to simplify the process of running Hychain Gaurdian nodes. NodeOps is a leading node as service provider that offers a single click deployment service to manage and configure nodes at ease without the need for anyone to setup their own clients, RPC’s or VPS. Over the last few days, we heard several of our community members worried about the complexity of running a Hychain Gaurdian node and therefore being on the edge to participate in the node sale. We are confident that NodeOps will not just offer a frictionless experience for anyone with no prior technical exprience to run nodes but it also comes with multitude of other benefits for anyone who wants to use their services. 1. Zero gas fees - NodeOps covers gas fees incurred during transactions. By absorbing these costs, they aim to provide you with a seamless experience, eliminating any additional financial burden on your end. 2. Maintenance, Node Operations, Upgrades, Monitoring - Behind the scenes, the team ensures optimal performance of your nodes. This includes regular maintenance, efficient node operations, timely upgrades, and continuous monitoring. These efforts contribute to a stable and reliable service, minimizing downtime and maximizing potential rewards. 3. Higher Availability for Higher Rewards - Since the rewards are directly tied to the amount of uptime, NodeOps is optimally designed for higher availability, minimizing the chances of downtime. 4. No Exposure to Private Keys for Enhanced Security and Scalability - Security is paramount in Web3 and thus NodeOps ensures that there is no involvement of anyone exposing your private keys, thus mitigating any potential risks. 5. Effortless Setup: Nodes Up & Running in Less than 3 Minute - Upon purchasing the node keys, Hychain Guardian nodes will be up and running in less than 3 minutes, requiring zero setup efforts. NodeOps currently operates over 2800+ nodes and manage over $8mn in AUM today for several chains such as Celestia, Xai, Shardeum, Zora, Avail, Fuel among many others etc. and we are excited to welcome NodeOps in our ecosystem to offer a frictionless experience for anyone with no prior technical experience to run Hychain nodes.

A good economic analogy to think of platform taxes is by referencing them to deadweight loss. eg. if Apple takes 30% of the game's revenue and AWS takes another 10-15% (or whatever) for server costs, it inhibits a studio from doing things because it's just not profitable. Apple and Amazon keep getting rich, but for every dollar they make, many other dollars of potential economic value get annihilated.

A good lesson from studying new airdrops is that retroactive airdrops are rarely implemented anymore. Protocols that airdrop retroactively literally burn most of their dry powder that they can otherwise use to grow the network. Making the airdrops evident from day 0 to drive actions towards the north star and leveraging future tokens that act as a motivator of behavior to bootstrap networks seems the meta for this cycle.

The objective of the creator program is not exclusivity but eventually open it up to as many creators as possible and then reward them based on meritocracy. The North Star for this program is attention. More people = more attention.
This won’t go over well but as always I’ll say it anyways - The @hytopia trailblazers program doesn’t seem as exclusive as I would’ve hoped. Seems like everyone got selected. What’s the benefits then? I’ll wait to see more details but this is my initial thought.

Great review on Loot Legends by @Parad1ddle - I have known him from my days at indigg and he is a world champion player in Smite When he says something good about a game, we listen.
Last season's darling was TCG, and it eventually led to there being more TCG games in web3 than players of TCG. This time, it's mobile based rogue-like dungeon crawlers and I'll be hard pressed to say that history won't repeat itself. Originality might be overrated but quality isn't, and that's a memo the factories mass producing copies didn't get. Played a little bit of @LootLegendsGame built on @HYCHAIN_GAMES today and it's definitely a notch above it's siblings. A little thread today on first impressions, with a more detailed review to follow 🧵👇

Short form content is the worst thing that happened to humanity in the last decade - so many of my friends and families are hooked watching endless brain rots for hours at end, not realising the poison they are feeding themselves. A large majority of this audience are 10-18 year old children who are hooked to the addiction loop, building a distorted world view, damaging the development of the prefrontal cortex, poor mental health, poor sleep etc etc. This should be banned instead of being celebrated.
Now averaging over 200 billion Shorts daily views!

Hack for learning new things - 1. Take a pdf/video and add to notebook LLM 2. Ask it to create a mind map of the subject 3. Absorb it really well 4. Use it and feed it to Gemini 2.5 pro and ask it to do deep research on it 5. Feed the same resource to O3 and ask it to give you most relevant pieces around it (keep search on) 6. Ask Gemini 2.5 pro questions about stuff you do not understand - ask it to break it down into smaller chunks 7. Take notes on a physical copy while doing all the steps above Works like a charm.

Deepseek R1 is the most fascinating product I have used in a long time. I remember using it 6 months back but it used to hallucinate 6 out of 10 times. Seeing the model reason out and talk to itself while generating state of the art output at 1/10th the cost re-affirms my belief that China is going to be neck to neck with USA in the AI war. It’s probably the first time we see a non human form of intelligence reason itself so well.

So grateful to have had web3 gaming leaders such as @Cryptocurious98 of @IndiGG_DAO come all the way to Manila to join us for @phweb3festival 🙏❤️🇵🇭 feeling sad to bid him goodbye tonight but… it gives @nsmale and I a good excuse to start planning a trip to India 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳

5. This gave birth to Superare Spaces which are independently run storefronts on SuperRare that can curate art and artists, promote sales, run auctions, and collect commissions. Spaces acts as a curated marketplace within a marketplace.

I am participating in this @HYCHAIN_GAMES node sale and will do a large quantity of nodes (hundreds and hundreds). Been a @hytopia world holder for several years now. Rode the highs and was destroyed by the lows, but I'm still here, still holding, still bullish long term. WHY AM I MINTING THESE NODES? Bullish on TOPIA over the long term and bullish on HYPTOPIA, the minecraft-compatible web3 metaverse the team has been building out for over two years now. Here's how I see the the ROI with some back of the napkin calculations. Each node will probably, assuming we hit ~20,000 node sales, give something like 10,000 $TOPIA over a three year period which comes out to abut 25 USD per node or ~300 TOPIA per month at 8c. Not a ground breaking amount per month, but at scale this adds up AND it's a long term bet that $TOPIA drastically increases from the ~60M FDV cap to a 500M - 1 B cap. So I see a potential 5-10x upside here at least, and more if the Layer 2 chain picks up traction and / or the HYPTOPIA game starts to pull in serious DAU this year, post beta. 25 USD per node is not impressive vs the likes of @XAI_GAMES or the upcoming @Revolving_Games nodes, but if we pull a 5x or 10x, the nodes purchased at a .1e price start to look very interesting, especially when you have a bunch of them. And the nodes will be, at some point, tradable. So you may see singificant upside once you can trade the nodes, especially if the nodes move from the .1e price to .5 - 1e range. BETTING ON TEAMS The team has come back from the abyss and beyond to save this project from extinction after Mincraft pulled the plug on NFT WORLDS back in 2022. The fact the team faced the challenge and came through the bear with their own game engine makes the team a good bet in my eyes. They can still keep cooking even when the fire runs out. It's a bet on the team as much as anything else. The team expanded the ecosystem by launching a new Layer 2 gaming chain powered by these nodes further deepening the ecosystem. I'm always a fan of infrastructure plays as an investment as the market cap potentials are usually much higher. To me, this bakes a lot more value into the $TOPIA token, given it will be both the ecosystem token of the chain (gas fees etc) as well as the in-game currencies for HYTOPIA and any game utilizing the HYCHAIN network. It's a long road but I do appreciate the team has brought the community along for the ride. I think we are in need of a web3 minecraft style metaverse, one that betters the original and frees the content creators and the players from the shackles of Microsoft's heavy hand. I personally think the $TOPIA token and the node won't be a quick moon but more of a longer term, slow cook. But I think the rewards will be great, once the HYTOPIA game beta launches and the entire space sees what's been built over the bear. There are certainly quicker returns to be had elsewhere, but sometimes the slow cooks turn out to be the most delicious. I'm here to back the builders in this space, and these teams are the builder's builders. nitter.app/HYCHAIN_GAMES/st…

4. Back to Superare, the team for the first 3 years would select handpicked curated art pieces from artists and list them on their platform but they soon realized that they can't be gatekeepers of curated art and hence launched Superare 2.0 which converted the entity to a DAO.

It’s humbling to fully understand how little data humans have generated in terms of the number of unique tokens available, relative to what we need for superintelligence. We have not even scratched the surface.
