The only way to apply sense to Trump’s trade war is to create massive uncertainty that will force the Fed to lower rates for when we need to refinance $6.5T of treasuries by June.
China knows this and by selling treasuries they create counter pressure for the Fed to keep rates high.
This game only needs to be played by China for 2 months until end of May when we need to refinance our debt.

Even if he is successful in bringing jobs on shore through the tariff tax, prices will remain high and the tax on consumption will remain the form of higher prices because we are simply not as good at making all things.
A tax on consumption also means less consumption. Which means less jobs. Which in turn leads to less consumption. And then even less jobs.

Yes. You should brine your turkey. Don’t even think about not brining your turkey. Ever.
This is the easiest thing you can do to create flavor and moisture in your turkey. As a South African, the idea of turkey was new to me. And confusing. It’s about the least flavorful bird on the planet. But once a year, ya just gotta do it.
First, buy a brining bag with your turkey from your local grocery store. They usually come with a salt+spice bag. If not, have salt, rosemary and thyme handy.
How much salt? Lots and lots. Big birds need a lot of salt. At least a cup. The rest of the spices you can have fun with, but be generous w the salt.
Pour your salt+spices into a pot of water and boil. About a quart. Enough to dissolve the salt.
Let the water boil and dissolve the salt. When it’s all dissolved, about 5 minutes, add cold water to cool it down.
Next, put your turkey in the brining bag. I use the sink as my safest place. No fun if you spill the brining liquid in your kitchen.
Add your cooled brining liquid to the brining bag.
Then seal your bag and put it in the fridge. It’s that easy! #happythanksgiving
