WTF is x402? 🧐 It is a new payment rail supported by @coinbase. Agents can use it to pay for APIs, data, or services directly inside an HTTP request, no extra accounts or tokens needed. Are we going to use it? 🧑‍🔧 As a neutral coordination layer, we integrate the payment rails that agents choose, x402 included, among many other options. And not only payments. this week, we've been deep in product development, closer than ever to releasing our MVP 🧑‍🔧 in this conversation with @NickPlaysCrypto, @0xlambertd explains what the private beta, reserved to OG Token Holders, will look like... ... and how agent swarms, like those enabled by Karum, are superior to single LLMs

WTH is ERC-8004? 🤔 It is a new Ethereum draft standard, introduced by contributors from MetaMask, the Ethereum Foundation, and Google, that defines a minimal trust layer for AI agents. It introduces three registries: - one for portable agent identities - one for authorizing feedback - one for recording validation requests and responses Together these registries create a shared surface for reputation and verification. They do not try to solve discovery, orchestration, payments, or scoring. This matters because until now, every agent framework has handled identity and trust differently. Reputation has been siloed and difficult to carry across stacks. ERC-8004 is a first attempt at standardization. How does this affect Karum? 💡 For Karum this is validation of our thesis. Agents need neutral infrastructure before they can transact at scale. Our plan is to integrate ERC-8004 as one input among many. Agents listed there will flow into our catalogue. Feedback and validation events will connect to our Trust Graph. On top of that, Karum adds the missing pieces: global discovery, ranking, orchestration, and escrow. ERC-8004 makes trust portable within Ethereum. Karum is building the layer that expands it across chains and into real-world agent workflows, beyond web3. Holders earned their OG Badges and they should not be revoked as long as they hold at least 100 $KARUM in their wallet. Balances will be evaluated every week and burned if a full week as passed with a $KARUM balance under the 100 tokens threshold. During the duration of the next phase of community incentives: 2. Airdrops or airdrop multipliers reserved to OG Badges holders will take into account any profit taking (including from upcoming OG airdrops) which will decrease exponentially their allocation. This means that even if you took some profits you'll get some of the airdrop, but much less than someone who did not. OG Badge holders that sold more than 50% of their original allocation will have no allocation from OG airdrops. 3. Perks and benefits will each have a threshold of original allocation held, which will be defined when the benefit is put in place. For example: fee rebates for OGs could take into account profit taking of the original allocation. This means that someone who took some profits would pay more for terminal usage than someone who did not. 4. If this proposal passes, any new iniciative for OGs will be designed in this fashion. 5. For each airdrop, we will monitor any sale activity to avoid gaming the system by selling and re-buying the day before the snapshot. We will take into account tokens sold, even if they were rebought soon after. 6. These rules will be reviewed at the end of the next community incentives period and adapted if need be. What sets Karum apart? Discover what our co-founder @0xlambertd had to say on the matter. Here is the (cleaned up) transcript: Coming back to the “why”— Why is Creator Bid doing what it’s doing? Why are we all so excited about AI agents? It’s because we’re helping build the next iteration of the economy. And we all want to see that progress. A lot of incredibly smart people are working on powerful, forward-thinking projects. Creator Bid is one of them. Bittensor is another. And every week, it seems like there’s a new project emerging—new ecosystems where real value is being created every single day. But for this broader vision of the agent economy to really take shape— To grow into something that has a meaningful impact on society and humanity— There’s still one big missing piece: A way for all of these ecosystems to communicate. To connect. To unlock the value that’s currently trapped in silos. And that’s where we come in. Our North Star at Karum is to unite these ecosystems so the agent economy can truly scale—and so we, as humans, can fully benefit from it. It’s not simple. Discovery is one piece of it—finding the right agents and services. But that’s not enough. All these ecosystems speak different “languages.” So we also need to translate between them and coordinate across them. That’s what we call meta-orchestration. Some ecosystems already have their own orchestration systems. But we go a step further—we orchestrate across those orchestrators, as well as with agents who plug directly into Karum. So what does Karum do? Four key things: Discovery – Finding the right agents and capabilities across ecosystems. Meta-orchestration – Connecting and coordinating agents that operate in different environments. Trust – This is crucial, especially in such an emergent space. Some agents do amazing work. Others are still in development. And like in any industry, there are also scams. So we’ve built a trust layer, a reputation graph based on cryptographic proofs. Every interaction on Karum is recorded on-chain. Over time, this builds a reputation score that's portable and visible across all ecosystems we integrate with. Payments and Escrow – Maybe the least flashy part, but essential. Different ecosystems use different tokens and payment rails. We unify those through on-chain payments and escrow so agents from different environments can work and transact together smoothly. The combination of these four elements is what sets Karum apart—and it’s how we help bring the agent economy to life.
