Trump is recounting to the Values Voter Summit how he wanted to sue Schiff and Pelosi but was told by aides they have "immunity."
This follows his Oct. 2 press conference where he threatened to bring "a lot of litigation against a lot of people."
Spent some time parsing Trump's rally speeches since 2017 to look at how he talks about immigration. The words "predator," "invasion," "alien," "killer," "criminal" and "animal" have come up more than 500 times during that period.
Remember that coronavirus post card the government sent to every American household back in March that prominently featured Trump's name?
It cost $28 million.

Trump is going farther than usual tonight in his Mississippi rally attacking not only Ford but also, it seems, the #MeToo movement more broadly. "It’s a damn sad situation," Trump said. "Think of your son. Think of your husband."
It sounds like infrastructure week is off.
President Trump, just now in the Rose Garden: “I want to do infrastructure. But you know what, you can’t do it under these circumstances.”
"The Senate confirmation process was contentious and emotional," Kavanuagh said. "That process is over. My focus now is to be the best justice I can be. I take this office with gratitude and no bitterness."
"The sanctity of the Supreme Court has been upended by virtue of the leak itself," writes @richardjwolf. "That trust will be virtually impossible to rebuild."

The fact the map was "doctored" is beside the point. No one thought we wouldn't notice it was sharpie mark.
The point is Trump raised Alabama long after the forecast changed, got upset that outlets reported it and is continuing to insist (via the map) he was right all along.
Yes, I did carry an office chair into the White House today (ours has been broken for months). No, I did not mean to photobomb @KellyannePolls hit on Fox.
I'm excited to announce that I'm heading to @cnn to cover the Supreme Court, starting next week. I'm honored to be a part of an excellent legal team that I've been reading closely (and learning from) for many years.
Trump's census memo says it's now U.S. policy to ignore people "not in a lawful immigration status" for reapportionment.
Putting aside the certain legal challenges, it's not clear how the Census Bureau can distinguish a person's immigration status.

Trump issues a statement on the coronavirus stimulus limiting congressional oversight. Trump will block special IG monitoring the money from reporting if he/she is stonewalled by federal agencies.
Speaker Pelosi references the late Elijah Cummings in her post impeachment vote remarks: "We did all we could, Elijah," she says. "We passed the two articles of impeachment. The president is impeached."
Final point: I went through to remove occurrences of words like "criminal" when Trump wasn't speaking about immigration. There weren't many. Not only does he often rely on these words when discussing immigration, but he rarely uses these words in any other context.
Trump offers a standard talking point to begin his speech at the UN -- says his administration has accomplished more than any other. The audience laughed. "So true. I didn’t expect that reaction, but that’s okay," Trump says.
"We know that we owe to you, veterans, our freedom," French President Emmanuel Macron tells D-Day veterans on stage in English. "On behalf of my nation, I just want to say thank you."
Three Democratic lawmakers (Whitehouse, Blumenthal, Hank Johnson) have asked Justice Amy Coney Barrett to recuse in the AFPF v. Rodriquez case to be argued at SCOTUS next week.
Why? Because AFP spent "seven figures" backing her confirmation last year.

It’s unscientific, for sure. But several people I’ve spoken with today north of the White House say there are a lot more people here at this time than there yesterday. At least one said Trump’s moves yesterday compelled them to come out today.
Excited to announce I’ll be covering the Supreme Court for @USATODAY starting Monday, taking the reins from the inimitable @richardjwolf. Sad to leave my colleagues on the WH team, but thrilled (and grateful) for this new gig. Advice? Story ideas? jfritze@usatoday.com
As the story notes, in most cases, his strongest words are reserved for MS-13. But Trump has long often conflated MS-13 with broader immigration trends.
"For the second time, the court declines to act immediately to protect these women from grave and irreparable harm," Justice Sotomayor writes of today's moves in the Texas abortion case.
Story: usatoday.com/story/news/poli…
The Supreme Court declines to block Texas' six-week abortion ban for now but it will hear two challenges to the law on an expedited basis, one from the Biden admin. and the other from providers. Arguments set for 11/1.
White House responds to reports of Kavanaugh letter. "Not until the eve of his confirmation has Sen. Feinstein or anyone raised the specter of new ‘information’ about him."
Thanks, @SusanPage and @USATODAY. Homecomings are indeed sweet. I'm so excited to be back on the team there. It's been an honor to write for @baltimoresun readers these past seven years, and to work with such talented colleagues. Thanks, all.
You can go home again: After a brief interlude (OK, seven years) at the @baltimoresun, @jfritze is returning to @USATODAY to join our White House team. #GoodNews

Acting Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Mark Morgan at 10:30 a.m.:
Trump in Feb. 2018 after the school shooting in Parkland: "We're going to be very strong on background checks...we’re going to go strong on age of purchase and the mental aspect.”
Didn't happen.
Harvard didn't get money intended for small businesses. It got money intended for universities (like Harvard) that have students with Pell grants, per Sec. 18004 of the bill. The money was set by formula and distributed by the U.S. Department of Education.
Harvard has one of the largest endowments anywhere in the country—and they will not keep money intended for small business loans, President @realDonaldTrump said.
Acting Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Mark Morgan asked if there are any senior leaders at the Department of Homeland Security who have been confirmed by the Senate.
"I’d have to go through that," Morgan said. "There are a couple."
Md. Attorney General Brian Frosh says Interior announcement on offshore drilling today makes it "more likely" Maryland would sue on the issue. "It’s a stunningly bad decision," Frosh said.
Trump abruptly cancels meeting with Putin at G20 minutes after saying he would "probably" go through with it. (AKA the 5th lead I've written on this story since landing). usatoday.com/story/news/poli…
Of the $8B, Trump is taking $6B from the Pentagon. It's telling the White House is not saying exactly where that money is coming from. It's a sign they know it'll get push back. usatoday.com/story/news/poli…

Biden camp weighs in on the Stone commutation: "Pres. Trump has once again abused his power, releasing this commutation on a Friday night, hoping to yet again avoid scrutiny as he lays waste to the norms and the values that make our country a shining beacon."
Interesting vote count on this state secrets case: Breyer has Roberts, Kavanaugh, Barrett, Thomas and Alito on board to dismiss Zubaydah’s discovery request.
Gorsuch and Sotomayor in dissent. Kagan would have sent the case back for more review.

Those swabs that were being made behind President Trump today during his tour at the Maine swab-making company?
They have to be tossed, the company says.

At a recent round table meeting of business executives, & long after formally introducing Tim Cook of Apple, I quickly referred to Tim + Apple as Tim/Apple as an easy way to save time & words. The Fake News was disparagingly all over this, & it became yet another bad Trump story!
President Trump, reacting to the viral picture of him today with cash in his back pocket: "I don’t carry a wallet because I haven’t had to use a credit card in a long time. I do like leaving tips to the hotel. I like to carry a little something. I like to give tips to the hotel."
Trump talked about "tough hombres" and "kung flu" and the "beautiful monuments" of the confederacy during his rally in Tulsa tonight.
Two words he didn't use: "George Floyd."
