Brilliant idea. The Chinese must also run a certification program for all Chinese food in India.
Most of the "Indian restaurants" in foreign countries are run by Pakistani and Bangladeshis. Their food is substandard, service sucks, and they are profiting of the 'Indian food' brand name as not many will eat if it is called Pakistani or Bangla food. They are also eating into business and profits of Indians. It is my suggestion to the MEA that a certification program called "Authentic Indian" be launched. Indian & Indian origin owned restaurants in foreign countries can apply for it in their local embassies and consulates. After verification, the local Indian embassy shall issue this certificate, logo, and branding that can be displayed at these restaurants. At the same time, MEA, tourism ministry, or some other GoI organization can launch a world wide campaign to promote "Authentic Indian" brand while bringing awareness on these fake "Indian restaurants" run by Pakistani and Bangladeshis. Use social media too to build negative branding about these fake Indian restaurants. There are other things that can be done too. For example, use the "Authentic Indian" restaurants to promote tourism to India with marketing and information kiosks. Award 1-5 star ratings to these "Authentic Indian" restaurants based on food taste, quality, cleanliness (very important).

Fact check: this is an outcome of the 2015 people's demand to #SaveTheInternet resulting in the 2016 #NetNeutrality regulation that derailed dreams of walled gardens in favour of the open internet. The mobile data boom came after this. We the people of India did this.
#WATCH | Delhi: Rajan Anandan, MD Peak XV Partners says, "Post the reforms of 2014, the number of active mobile phone data users in India has become more than 800 million, which is more than in the US & China combined. So that's an extraordinary transformation of a digital ecosystem. We have without question the most vibrant in terms of broad-based innovation ecosystem when it comes to Digital India... But the thing that I am most excited about is De-regulation in specific, strategic sectors. The De-regulation and opening of strategic sectors like Space, Defence, etc. have spurred innovation. Because of the ecosystem provided by the government in the last 10 years, India has become the top innovator in cutting-edge sectors like aerospace, space and defence, which was unthinkable in the past!"
