So my mom found this article and was panicking - because it said the Pfizer vaccine “was 74.4% effective in Asian Americans” without any explanation or note.
This is /extremely misleading/ and it’s really irresponsible to publish something like this w/o explaining. (1/7)

LA folks - the fastest free walk-up COVID PCR testing locations in LA I’ve found so far are the random blue tents scattered throughout Koreatown. I’ve always gotten results within 2 days! 🥸
Kinda just have to drive around to find them, but they’re out there.

I often think about my mom & her stroke of genius, stocking up her little medical clinic with 2000 (!) masks way back in JANUARY before COVID was even on most Americans’ radars. She had heard about a strange coronavirus in doctors’ WeChat groups & had a bad feeling about it.

Here’s a man named Don, who runs a shop with kitchen supplies, supplements, k-drama dvds, etc. He opened the shop in the 80s after coming to the US from Korea for school. I bought a rice scooper & veggie shredder from him, and also practiced some Korean! :)

🚨 Reminder that:
- It takes at least 12-14 days for the first shot to start giving you protection. Really it takes a few WEEKS for your body to develop antibodies.
- Pfizer is only 52% effective after first dose. Moderna is approx 80%. After second dose both are about 95%.
The Covid vaccine is not a guarantee. My wife & I, vaccinated 17 days ago, both tested positive yesterday and are in quarantine. We think the source was a person we had contact with before the shot took full effect. Caution is in order. We’ll be fine, I should add.

I was curious why there was a Chinatown Express in Koreatown. This woman, Eilene (I think that’s how she spelled it, it was loud) said it’s cuz there’s less competition here (because it’s all Korean restaurants) which makes a lot of sense, lol. The food is under $10 for a meal 😮
