With the consent of his family, we're deeply saddened to share the news that Max van Rossem has passed away while in Japan. He died peacefully in his sleep from heart failure.
Max was a much-loved member of the Cardano community, always thoughtful, generous, sharp-minded, and deeply committed to those he worked alongside.
He made significant contributions to the development of Cardano’s constitution and to many of the governance discussions and optimizations that will help shape the network’s future.
Many of us will be deeply saddened by his passing. At this time, we ask that everyone continue to respect the privacy of his family and the grief of his close friends, as they navigate this unimaginably sad and hard time.

Update on the spam attack attempted today ⬇️
We want to thank the community for quickly mobilizing to help support us in identifying the source of today’s spam attack on the Cardano mainnet. To complement the community effort to resolve the issue, we have coordinated a technical task force to identify potential solutions with partners from the ecosystem, including @Cardano_CF, @InputOutputHK, and knowledgeable SPOs and developers.
TLDR:
The network has experienced a higher load than normal and some SPOs have been negatively affected due to an intensification in block height battles. However, the chain as a whole is functioning as expected, with only a small impact on overall transaction timings and some reduction in chain density.
The task force is collaborating to identify and test a solution that will blunt this kind of spam attack, and will continue to keep the community updated via Discord and social channels. Once a solution has been properly tested and deployed, we will share the new node version for SPOs to upgrade to.

Despite best efforts from members and teams across the globe, some delegates and alternates have encountered visa complications to get to Argentina. Resolving this with the ethos of Cardano at our core, the convention will now be held in two locations: Buenos Aires 🇦🇷 and Nairobi 🇰🇪.
This is hugely regrettable, as to deliver a Constitutional Convention that accounts for all those who have been engaged in this process is paramount to presenting a draft Constitution we can be proud of.

The Investigative Report and Forensic Audit into ada voucher redemptions is now public.
The investigation was conducted by global law firm McDermott Will & Schulte and accounting firm BDO.
Intersect was closely engaged throughout, helping ensure the facts were examined transparently. The outcome confirms what was long expected: no misuse of funds, no wrongdoing.
Over 99% of vouchers were redeemed, with remaining ada later used to bootstrap Intersect and support Cardano’s continuity.
A chapter closed, with clarity on record and confidence for the future.

Dear Cardano Community,
As you know, in May 2025, IOG engaged McDermott Will & Schulte and BDO to conduct an Investigative Report and Forensic Audit concerning the ada Voucher Program, redemptions of Vouchers, Cardano blockchain upgrades, and the use of ada associated with unredeemed Vouchers. It is now complete! The 128 page Investigative Report and Forensic Audit, dated September 2, 2025, documents certain milestone events and decisions in Cardano’s 10 year history and investigates a series of public accusations made on social media alleging wrongdoing concerning the Topics of the Investigative Report and Forensic Audit.
The public accusations included five principle allegations: (1) Cardano insiders stole or otherwise misused ada that should have been allocated to Voucher Holders; (2) improper sales tactics were used in connection with the Voucher Program; (3) Cardano blockchain upgrades were designed to make it difficult to redeem Vouchers; (4) Cardano blockchain upgrades deleted Voucher Holders’ “private keys” or assets; and (5) that Cardano insiders had no legal right to send unredeemed ada to CDH and decide how to spend it.
I am pleased to report that the Investigative Report and Forensic Audit reaches the following conclusion:
“After review of tens of thousands of documents, a forensic on-chain and traditional forensic analysis, and eighteen formal interviews of current employees, former employees, Voucher Holders, service providers, community members, and other third parties, the Investigation determined that each of the allegations related to the Topics of Investigation do not have any basis.”

Update on arrangements surrounding the passing of Max van Rossem, our much loved member of the Cardano community:
A funeral service will be held in Haarlem, this Saturday 3.30-6pm local time.
There will be 20 spaces available for those within the Cardano community who wish to attend in person-
please DM if you need full address details.
After the service, there will be a Cardano community gathering in Amsterdam, where many Cardano workshops have taken place, to honour and celebrate Max’s life.
It will be a space to share stories, raise a glass, and reflect on the legacy he leaves behind.
Max will be deeply missed, and fondly remembered, not only for his work, but for the friendship and joy he brought to so many.

It’s time to vote!
After extensive testing and the successful deployment of our smart contract framework, we’re pleased to submit the remaining 38 Treasury Withdrawal proposals that directly correspond to the previously approved Budget Info Action.
All 39 proposals are now live on-chain for DReps and the interim Constitutional Committee to consider - enabling the Cardano Treasury to distribute funds securely and transparently, guided by community decisions and enforced by smart contracts.
Each proposal has already undergone months of socialization and community review from off-chain polling to the Budget Info Action approved in June this year. Now, DReps and the ICC will determine which proposals move forward at this final constitutional stage.
This moment reflects:

• Independent oversight
• Milestone-based funding
• Transparency by design

Unlocking new opportunities with Cardano’s native stablecoins
Cardano’s native stablecoins are poised to play a pivotal role in the next phase of ecosystem growth, and Intersect is helping to lay the groundwork for their adoption. We’ve been engaging with the teams behind USDM (@USDMOfficial) and USDA (@AnzensOfficial) to explore how Cardano’s native stablecoins might support ecosystem growth, particularly in our role as Administrator. This includes evaluating how stablecoins could offer practical options for Treasury-funded projects and operational payments, subject to community governance and regulatory considerations.
In anticipation of upcoming Treasury Withdrawal governance actions, we are developing contractual frameworks for vendors who may be selected for funding. One such vendor, @tweagio by @ModusCreate, has indicated an intention to stabilize the value of their contract by converting the allocated ada into USDM and USDA. Subject to governance approval, this would result in their ₳11 million smart contract being held in equal parts across both stablecoins - potentially marking one of the most significant uses of Cardano-native stablecoins in ecosystem funding to date!
We’ve also been in dialogue with @nbxcom in their capacity as a custodian and exchange provider, and are collaborating on strategic planning for stablecoin adoption across the network.
This preparatory work reflects a growing confidence in the utility of native stablecoins and a collaborative effort to ensure the ecosystem is ready to responsibly leverage them as Cardano continues to scale.
With these foundations in place, the network is well positioned to unlock new possibilities for builders, Treasury-funded initiatives, and the wider Cardano community.

Intersect is making changes to better serve the Cardano Community
We are announcing today that Lawrence Clark has departed his role as Head of Operations. We thank him for his contribution during Intersect’s setup and wish him well.
@JBriggsLondon will now lead the organization day to day, with @NC_IntersectMBO stepping in as Interim Director of Operations. The Board has full confidence in their leadership during this next phase.
Over recent weeks, the Board has been actively engaging with members. It’s clear that if Intersect is to meet the moment and fulfill its purpose, meaningful change is required. We’re now acting on that. A new operational plan is in motion to clarify roles, remove friction, and reaffirm Intersect’s role as a facilitative layer in a decentralized system, not a command structure.
As part of this, a formal search for a permanent Executive Director will begin in the coming weeks. Members will help shape this process from start to finish.
This is still the beginning. For Intersect, and for Cardano’s governance journey. The work ahead will be leaner, more open, and relentlessly member-led.
