#CovidIsAirborne, & almost 60% of transmission is from the symptomless infected people all around you. That’s why we need masks AT LEAST in healthcare!
This nurse is annoying me; this is the second video she’s made in the last 24 hours complaining about all the people coming in to the ER to be tested for flu & covid and she doesn’t understand why they want to know what they have & she openly resents them.
I was just in an ER & heard a girl being gaslit abt obvious POTS symptoms. Dr said EKG looked great & heart rate normal. She said her heart rate goes as low as 40s sometimes and as high as 140. Dr said “watches aren’t the most accurate”😡 & did another EKG to appease her 🙄
“Scary covid” is making a comeback.
It’s almost like the strategy of pretending the pandemic is over and dropping the vaccine down to a once-a-year booster because they want it to be “just like flu” isn’t working. 😞
He should be angry. Everyone who believed the lie that covid is “mild” and that we no longer needed to take precautions to prevent it should be ANGRY. If this isn't you yet, it likely will be one day. Please, let’s rise up together to protect our future!

Sounds like you were the one who went to the concert w covid, then. Symptoms normally start 2-3 days after exposure.
Because of the CDC’s lousy isolation release guidance of “24 hrs fever free,” doctors are telling patients that it means they aren’t contagious anymore. What a disaster! Most infected people exhale large amounts of viral RNA for a minimum of 8 days, even if testing negative.
Maybe they feel horrible? Maybe they’re scared? Maybe they want antivirals and they have no way of getting them through a PCP or they don’t have insurance? Idk maybe if y’all wore masks u wouldn’t be overrun w sick ppl bec u set an example for the community??
This lady went to work SICK AS A DOG with covid for two full workdays before testing, and seems completely unbothered about it. Public health & media constantly downplaying covid has consequences, and this is an obvious one.
There are very few 65 year olds who have “no underlying conditions.” There are also very few 65 year olds who think dying at their age would be normal and acceptable.
Anyone else following the TikToker who had a double lung transplant almost a year ago and is counting down the days until she’s “allowed to go out in public” at the 1-yr mark? Her plans include eating at indoor restaurants, shopping indoors, flying to Miami, etc. No masking afaik
Had a guy install a new front door today and I put a big corsi rosenthal right by him and asked him if it was in his way. He said “no, but it might blow around a lot of a dust”😂 That’s when I explained its function. By the end he was asking me how he could make one!! BIG WIN! ☺️
We need a massive education campaign about how almost 60% of people infected with covid caught it from someone who didn’t have symptoms at the time of transmission. Ignoring this fact is the main thing that enables people, including medical professionals, to justify not masking.
“New Yorkers are cooked—we all have this wheezing cough (not bacterial*) we all need inhalers because it’s the city & it’s disgusting so you’re constantly coughing all over each other… I’m so sick; we’re all sick!”
*aka not infectious 😒 (u sure about that??)
This nurse’s PTSD response to having to don PPE in a nursing home due to an outbreak gives a glimpse into why many healthcare workers are so resistant to masking in general. If masking in healthcare was routine, it wouldn’t be so heavily associated with one terrible point in time
I wish the subheadline said “Raven Baxter, a molecular biologist, was told that a white homeowner wanted to pull out of a sale because of her race.” That more accurately depicts what happened, from what I read in your quoted thread.
When my plumber came to the door and saw me in a mask, he ran to his truck to don his n95. When I wore my n95 to the eye doctor today, neither the assistant nor the doctor wore masks. Why wouldn’t they have the same courtesy as my plumber, being as they are MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS?
She’s had covid FOURTEEN times in the last 2.5 years. Notice 2.5 years ago was when all remaining vestiges of mitigation were being dropped, and anti-mask, anti-mitigation sentiments started ramping up considerably.
ALT Currently in bed still… day 6 of Covid. I’ve had covid 14 times in the past 2 1/2 years & i used to think i had a weak immune system, but watching myself recover each time shows me that I'm actually not weak & more resilient than i thought. The only part that's a real struggle is gaining right back after i lose a few pounds
Decided to try a labeler to put some low-key messaging on my mask. Small enough to avoid self consciousness, but big enough that someone curious can read it. Imo, this is the key message that people need in order to understand why they should mask.
ALT Stick-on labels along the top of a 3m aura mask reading: “59% of all SARS-CoV-2 infections are transmitted by people without symptoms”
I wonder if she took ozempic and got the rare side effect of ileus resulting in perforated bowel and sepsis. I mean, everyone else is speculating so I might as well. Of course, it would be ridiculous and irresponsible if she was taking Ozempic considering she’s already skinny.
She’s had covid “20-25” times since covid started—and that’s with confirmed positive tests at urgent care or the hospital because she has terrible symptoms with covid each and every time she’s had it. The doctor said “maybe your body’s not making the antibodies to fight it.”😭
They had a “strong push to vaccinate” the elderly in the Villages, I remember. And there was a strong push to have the vaccine available at all the Publix locations in Republican-dominant counties, while making the more populous blue counties like Dade and Broward wait longer
I am prepared for the worst after hearing about how a gang of oncology nurses in Washington state acted with a vulnerable patient. And they were “seasoned” nurses who had 10+ yrs of experience (I asked the person who posted the video)
I felt profound relief when I learned that covid transmission was primarily airborne. The solution is so simple: wear a mask! Conversely, surface transmission feels impossible to prevent. Washing your hands is only effective until you touch the next surface. It feels futile.
I’m having a relatively minor procedure requiring anesthesia next week, and the nurse calling me for my pre-op assessment asked me if I’d ever had covid. Why is that relevant, I wonder? She didn’t ask me if I’d had a cold or the flu or any other infectious disease… 🤔 🤷🏼♀️
This blasé attitude towards catching and spreading covid is a direct result of the actions of the Biden administration and his CDC. It’s an afterthought to even TEST for covid. In the meantime, Rosie O’Donnell’s kid went to school on the assumption that it was “just a bug.” 🤔
EKGs don’t pick up on POTS. There’s NO EXCUSE for doctors to be uninformed about POTS at this point!! I also overheard another person who listed a litany of neurological and allergy symptoms that seemed obviously long covid related. Hope she got some answers but not optimistic
Wow. Lady Gaga acknowledges she did five shows with covid & gets a hearty round of applause and an “I love that” from the interviewer. What a twisted & sick society we live in.
I’m feeling a real lack of leadership from the @CDCDirector right now as we accelerate to the peak of the second highest covid wave of the pandemic. Her last tweet was December 22nd. I’m not sure how this isn’t a grave dereliction of duty?
This plate contains exactly 100 M&Ms, but only one of them will cause you to become seriously ill for years. Would you eat even one M&M from this plate if you knew that? I think most people wouldn’t, yet they are assessing their 1-in-10 risk of long covid to be essentially zero.
I have so much sympathy for the trauma that nurses went through during the early years of the pandemic. I wish they realized that they’re being set up for being re-traumatized over and over again because their occupational safety is still not valued nor protected.
Lol Suzanne Craig just credited Rachel Maddow's exposé of Trump's 2005 tax return as the spark that began the NYT's investigation on this bombshell report.
Suck it haterzzzz!! #maddow
One final thought. They need to improve upon privacy in ERs. They literally register people in the ER holding area where patients are sitting in the same room waiting to be seen, within full earshot of each other. You can hear everybody’s private details.
No you should blame Elle. If it was Trump’s fault that you were fired, then it’s also Elle’s fault for firing you on that basis. Also keep in mind that ageism could be a factor. Please get a lawyer.
Gen Z is going to be destroyed by SARS-CoV-2. Why are we standing by like this is acceptable? It only took two infections for my Gen-Z child to have consequences, even though they used “all the tools.” Time will tell whether they will be able to overcome this; I’m very angry.
I went to look at the post on Reddit (it’s from a little over a year ago). The consensus seemed to be that the student probably used an AI. The attached comment from the OP gives better context

After 15 weeks' worth of interactions with this student, I know him pretty well. I had weekly zoom meetings with him, spoke with him after almost every class meeting, countless emails, spoken with his tutor, and helped him get accommodations. His pre-class behavior and in-class behavior were horrendous. I have multiple data points concerning the measurement of his learning and application of material: journals, quizzes, and written activities. This single student took up more of my time than the other 44 in the course combined.
I'm good at my job and I know my students, so f*ck off.
I just called my dad’s cardiologist office to request that they wear masks and the receptionist said “they don’t have to wear one if they don’t want to.” Thanks for creating this hostile environment, CDC.
She’s on day 4 of covid & says:
“I had a lot of errands to run. I didn’t wear a mask—when I have covid, I can’t breathe worth a flip as it is… it’s not like I’m in anybody’s face, breathing all over them. Bash me if you want, but I’m not wearing a mask when I’m sick like this.”
Both of you wear an n95 mask in common areas of the house or if you’re in her room with her. Open windows, run HEPA air purifiers. The primary mode of spread is airborne so do whatever you can to reduce the viral load that you breathe in using masks and ventilation
ALT Dr. Chin-Hong believes COVID is becoming predictable thanks to the amount of immunity in society as well as tools like treatment and vaccines.
On top of this, he thinks yearly vaccines may only be needed by the most vulnerable and people over 65.
Highlighted paragraph (emphasis mine):
We as a society have to be prepared for as much as 100,000 to 250,000 people a year dying of those vulnerable groups," Dr. Chin-Hong said. "But, in general for your average person, it will probably fizzle out."
Oh, and I also overheard somebody diabetic who had a syncope/fainting episode. In the end, the doctor said it was just syncope and “it happens“ to people without diabetes and it’s normal and to just be careful. What??
I find it hard to tolerate this foolishness:
“Walking into emerg after having norovirus back to back, strep 3x and now not being after to breathe because my lungs arent able to recover properly after 3.5weeks of being sick.
COVID MASKING RUINED MY IMMUNE SYSTEM”
Overheard in spaces yesterday:
If you read writings from people earlier in the 20th century, you’ll notice that their lives involved a lot of sickness from various infectious diseases, peppered with a few bouts of feeling “healthy.” We’re going back to those times now.
There’s something wrong with a society in which a person feels guiltier for taking another day off than they do for unwittingly exposing their coworkers to covid.
ALT I was off on Thursday because I was ill, though I'd put my symptoms down to anxiety over a job interview (plot twist: it was Covid). I dragged myself back in on Friday and tested positive that night.
I feel so guilty about taking another day off, but it's really floored me.

Absolutely 100%! The CDC has left a void that inevitably gets filled with misinformation, even from doctors. Doctors are mostly not wearing masks nor advising patients to mask, and they’re telling patients that they aren’t contagious if they’re 24 hours fever-free!
So this is where we are with mask wearing. She’s outdoors in smoke-filled Los Angeles & still feels like she has to give multiple excuses for wearing a mask & sheepishly says maybe she’s being “extra.” She’s also wearing a mask offering little to no smoke particle filtration. 😞
It’s not just immunocompromised people! It’s older people, it’s people w preexisting conditions, it’s people who don’t even know they have preexisting conditions, and it’s people who don’t have a clue that despite their current stellar health, they will suffer if they get covid!
In the last week, I’ve seen two TikTok creators saying they’re “more sensitive to heat” to the point of fainting now. Just found out one of them died running a half marathon a couple days ago. Many people commenting they have “heat intolerance” post covid

That video was posted Aug 30. He has a workout channel. He’s posted a bunch of videos since then but he’s having to sit in a chair throughout the workouts. People are commenting on today’s workout asking why he’s still sitting.
Masking doesn’t even seem on her radar. She is in close contact with her medical team from what she says, but they don’t seem to be educating her about airborne precautions she should be taking. I’m very worried for her. I’ve tried commenting on a couple of her videos.
Parents are really getting angry that their kids are sick all the time! This seems like a golden opportunity to educate them and get some activism going to make changes in schools!

It definitely sheds some light on how people have processed the calculated, coordinated, and very deliberate minimization of covid over the last few years. I bet many people straight up think that the way it spreads changed because of the dropping of masks even by healthcare!
This person says she’s a public health professional & “very invested in protecting people from infectious disease.” Apparently that’s not enough because she:
- Hosted 3 superspreader events
- Felt sick upon return
- Went to work anyway
WE NEED PUBLIC HEALTH LEADERSHIP & GUIDANCE
“Post covid/laryngitis intermission moment. Theatre is hard”
It doesn’t have to be this hard, especially not on a huge Broadway show. Why don’t they value their talent enough to do the bare minimum of precautions to keep them safe?

A caregiver laments:
“No one talks about how sad covid can be when you work in a nursing home. Seeing it spread like wildfire and nothing we can do to stop it. Everyone please test before you go and visit your loved ones.”
Actually there’s SO MUCH that can & SHOULD be done! 🙁
Because they don’t consider themselves to be one of “those people”
ALT To limit health risks as a result of reduced air quality:
• All New Yorkers should limit outdoor activity and stay inside when possible.
• People with heart or breathing problems and children and older adults may be especially sensitive and should avoid outdoor activities during this time.
• If you are an older adult or have heart or breathing problems and need to be outside, wear a high-quality mask (e.g. N95 or KN95).
NYC Health
This is a reasoning for not wearing a mask that I hadn’t considered before:
“I should’ve gone out to the car to go grab a mask, but I didn’t because I didn’t want her [the lady coughing up a lung in the Pilates class] to feel uncomfortable, weird, or awkward” 😭
I just canceled our all access subscription that I had maintained for the last 7 years. There have been many other instances I considered it, but this is finally what did it.
Did you point out that you’re trying to protect yourself from the giant gaping exhalation valves called “mouths” on your fellow passengers? Somehow I *knew* this would happen because some people just can’t think outside the box. Ridiculous!
How do you deal with the lack of care for mitigation in the nursing home? Have you talked to them about it? I just don’t understand why they can’t even be bothered to mitigate for the most vulnerable.
This man picked up a sick wild bird, took it in his car & in his garage on the way to dropping it off at a wildlife rehab & appears to be unaware that he himself may be in danger of catching avian flu. 😩
Who knew that the “pandemic of the unvaccinated” & “vaccinated can ditch masks” would start a cascade leading to democrats full throatedly supporting mask bans? I knew it was bad but I didn’t realize how bad it would get.
60 Minutes presented the advice of “washing hands” like it was antiquated, ill-informed, beginning-of-the-pandemic advice. Why then is the CDC director still dishing it out in 2023, and not telling people how to prevent airborne transmission?
Haha silly me thinking this article would be about how much more death and disability was caused by forcing people back to in-person work in the midst of a pandemic with no mitigation!
The @CDCDirector’s advice to “avoid people who are sick” is absurd, especially considering that almost 60% of covid transmission originates from asymptomatic/presymptomatic people. It’s yet another propaganda point to mislead people & discourage masking.
My latest attempt to get people to protect my elderly parents before they knock on the door…
ALT Door with two signs: “please put on mask before knocking or ringing doorbell” and “If you need a mask, please take one.” Four individually wrapped masks are taped to the door.
What in anything I wrote makes you think I’m making fun of them? Far from it! Btw you need to look at your own posts b4 judging others. Suggesting to a suicidal person that they are the cause for hospital windows being unopenable is really not ok.
I would’ve put “get paxlovid” first. IMO that’s one of the most important reasons you need to know that it’s covid—so you can quickly start on an appropriate antiviral
My family member had pre-surgery registration yesterday and asked the surgeon if he and other staff could wear n95s in the OR. He said no, because his hospital doesn’t provide them and only approves surgical masks in the OR. How is this possible in a top tier teaching hospital?
My elderly mom is on the third floor. I asked the third floor healthcare workers why they weren’t masking and they said “because the covid cases are only on the second floor.” Thanks CDC. They did test all the staff this morning, and they agreed to at least mask in my mom’s room.
ALT Out of precaution for you and our loved ones, we ask at this time that no one from the Second Floor participates in Assisted Living Activities on the first floor, due to Covid.
We greatly appreciate your understanding.
How do you like that logic? The risk is UNKNOWN—therefore, the risk remains quite low!
ALT Jenna Guthmiller @GuthmillerJenna • 3h
What if milk does get contaminated with
H5N1? Pasteurization is an effective way to kill influenza viruses in milk. Second, it is unknown if drinking "raw" milk that is contaminated with H5N1 could even cause infections in humans. Therefore, the risk remains quite low.
So he says he agrees with our intelligence agencies and then immediately undermines them with "There weren't 17 as was previously reported there were actually 4...they were saying there were 17 there were actually 4." He just cannot be normal ...like, EVER.
Another superspreader where the disclaimer is that they “acted in accordance with CDC guidelines.” Maybe the guidelines are the problem? And they had more protocols in place than most (vaccine/booster mandates, daily testing, enhanced ventilation).
ALT What bothers Dalton and others is that
the BSO did not immediately share that a
few singers tested positive prior to the
concert. Those singers who were found to
be positive did not perform.
In a statement, the BSO says they
"stopped contact tracing earlier this year
in accordance with the CDC guidelines."
HIPAA privacy requirements also played a
role.
The statement adds that the
organization has taken its response to
the pandemic seriously, including
rigorous safety measures such as
mandated vaccines and boosters for all
performers and staff, testing for all choir
members, BSO brass and wind players,
and vocalists daily prior to arrival, and
enhanced ventilation and filtration that
exceed all published guidance.
I was thinking if instead he asked "what do you say to our teachers who don't want to be gunslingers?" because that might've put him more on the spot to give a real answer. Oh hell, he probably would've just deflected to the TX governor anyway...who am I kidding? 🙄
Watch out—reinfections after the summer wave have already started! Here’s a family who had covid in August, and they’re reinfected now—just two months later.
Yes, it’s painful to watch her being so diligent with hand sanitizer (she sprays to disinfect the Dunkin’ cups she gets in the drive thru), while masking doesn’t seem to be on her radar at all.
This shows vividly how “protecting the vulnerable” is just lip service. There’s no mechanism for protecting vulnerable people built into Biden’s pandemic response.
