I've been inactive for a while now because of some IRL work load. But, I just had to come put this out. The photo attached below is a message I received from a friend yesterday who was onboarded to the space about 3 months ago. He was already tired of Web3 and was getting frustrated. And this was someone that got a paying job in his first 2 months in the space. Looked funny to me, but I further asked him what went wrong. But he just kept on complaining that he didn't know why he was feeling that way, but he was confused, frustrated, and tired. He also added that his dev was delaying his payment for the past month. Now, that last statement may not be the main reason—but it obviously added to his frustration. I just had to tell him to take some days off to relax and breathe fresh air. Coming to X last night, I hopped in on @SerrDavee's space where he highlighted what he meant in his very recent tweet about Nigerians getting onboarded the wrong way. Now, this is something I've thought of a while ago when I was also down. And this is very important - The mindset we bring to this space will affect us in the next 6 to 7 months. If we are here and are focused on quick gains just because we know a friend who is earning x dollars per week, Or we scroll online and we see the amounts others with huge winnings. Even if we get some quick gains, because yes, crypto rewards the active ones, We will give up quicker when things go wrong. The right mindset is having the passion for what we do and contributing meaningfully. We want to view this space as a solution to the global financial system, an opportunity to explore the technical and non-technical aspects of blockchain technology and decentralisation. Knowing what crypto is and having the passion first will allow us to be focused on contributing to the ecosystem and going through the right process, and of course, the earnings will come easily.
