So this is a bit awkward to post, but I feel that I should. To make a long story shot, my wife and I were expecting and now we're not. It was our third early-term miscarriage in a year of trying and this time was looking promising for a while. It's sad, frustrating, and draining.

OWL seems more unlikely than ever to exist in it's current form after this season. When I moved from Korea to the US to make this league my life in 2017, I really believed we had a chance to do something great in the esports space.
We had the right people, the resources, and most importantly a great game. The people at the top changed in 2019 and things took a nose dive. I left at the end of that year because I didn't like the combination of things we were promised as talent not being delivered and the incompetence in the upper echelons of OWL leadership.
I honestly think Overwatch esports will be better if OWL goes away. Bring back regional leagues with regional identity. Bring back MLG-style tournament weekends.
I have enormous respect for the production crew and the on-camera talent who have been making things happen through a pandemic and endless budget cuts. Hoping everyone finds lots of work in whatever new OW esports ecosystem emerges.

Between the trajectory of OWL, the too-slow balance updates early on (months of goats meta) and now PvE being canceled, Overwatch will go down in history as the best game with the least realized potential. There's no sugar-coating it anymore.
The PvE mission I played at Blizzcon 2019 was a ton of fun and I know I wasn't alone in looking forward to a story campaign set in the OW universe. The decision is perplexing to say the least after this was set up for years to be the hallmark differenciator between 1 and "2".
Truly a shame since I've always felt like Blizz hit on something really special with the IP.

Life/career update: my wife ended up getting a really amazing job offer so we're heading back to LA! Didn't think we'd be coming back anytime soon, but this was too unique to pass up. She's followed me around for my career since we met so I figured it's time I did the same for her.
This also gives me a chance to take a break from the insane esports freelance race I've been running for nearly 14 years. Frankly, I'm very tired. This'll give me a chance to really focus on doing the gigs truly care about vs just focusing on making ends meet. Things like WoW and lots of card games are at the top of my list. I'm also spending more time than ever with scholastic esports projects. It's pure esports fun and really helps kids.
This also lets me be mostly a full-time Dad for a while! It's such a special opportunity and I love every second I get to spend with my podracer.
This isn't retirement! I'll never stop casting, but "full-time on camera talent" is basically a meme in NA Esports at this point so it's time for a change.
The road goes ever on and on...
