He named several different black women in public life--focusing on Sheila Jackson Lee--who had themselves publicly discussed benefiting from affirmative action. The selective misquote here (there's at *best* a massive ellipses between "black women" and "do not") is akin to quoting someone who actually said "Bill Cosby and Sean Combs are predators" as having instead said "black men are predators."
If you think that the misleading quote doesn't matter because both the real and the fake version are bad, I'd like to remind you of the fact that Kirk was murdered, and his murder was celebrated and justified, on the basis of things he putatively said.
