Random thought: Maybe Apple putting the M1 chip in the new iPad Pro was really about spreading the cost of R&D + dev of the M1 chip itself. The more units the chip goes into, the more ‘economical’ the development of the M1 chip becomes. Also helps to streamline SOCs devices use.
