I want to say Thank You to everyone for all your messages of support and generosity. It gives me and my family a huge amount of strength in a time of sadness for us. I will meet this challenge head on. Ultimately I can’t win but I will fight with everything. Hope is not lost.

I may look like a call centre operator but this week has been one where I've taken steps to 'bank my voice'. It is crucial for people with MND, as speech becomes difficult I have a tool to communicate that sounds like me! I hope that it’s a while before I use it 😅 #mnd

It has been a year to the day since I was diagnosed with MND. I often write little poems, here’s one to mark one year called ‘a year has passed since I was told’. It’s shit but I prefer it to posting a video 😁. Cheers and have a good day.

Two years on… Two years ago today I was diagnosed with MND. As far as statistics are concerned, I had a 50% chance of living up to this point but I am still here and despite the complete decline in my physical body, I am pleased to be here. I wrote a poem last year to mark the first year after my diagnosis and so I thought I would do the same thing this year. I will keep going every year I can. P.S. It’s coming home 😁

Really enjoyed getting back on my feet and back in a gym, which I haven't done in over a year. Thank you to the legends Rob and Sarah @ Apex Neuro for looking after me with real care and empathy whilst working hard to push me to expand my limits. In the video I am doing leg extension at 70kg and hip thrusters with 40kg plus whatever that bar adds. I am also attached to a machine that supplies direct current to nerves, which supports the muscle group I am working in the hope of engaging some of the connections I have lost with MND. ✌🏼

#WorldMNDAwarenessDay We have to change the story of MND. Today is about shining a light on all the people and families affected by Motor Neurone Disease. It is currently untreatable, and considered a terminal illness, the stats will tell you that over half of people die within 2 years of diagnosis. This disease strips you of absolutely everything, and rewrites your story for you in the worst imaginable way. We have to find a way to treat it, and improve the lives of everyone stories it’s ruined.

I used to think injuries were the end of the world. Now I know even in the hardest moments, life presents opportunities. MND is unimaginably difficult, but it’s also given me unexpected gifts. I’ve met incredible people, felt overwhelming support from friends and strangers, and together with Gloucester Rugby & the GR Foundation, built @4edfundraising to help others living with MND. Most importantly, I get to spend almost every day with my wife and kids—seeing them off to school, welcoming them home, sharing precious time. Is it ideal? No. I can’t wrap my arms around them, ride bikes, drive to clubs, or play in the garden. But being here, present in their lives, is an opportunity and privilege I’ll never take for granted. Keep looking for those opportunities. 👌❤️

#ICYMI – We are delighted that the @4edfundraising campaign has been adopted by Gloucester Rugby. Together with Gloucester Rugby Foundation, we are hoping to make a real difference for those people living with MND in our local community. Me and my wife, Jo have been taking our time to consider what we can do to help other people after the amazing response from so many people that have helped me and my family. The aim for us is to help other families and individuals who are living with this awful disease in and around Gloucestershire. This county is our home, we love the area and we know that there is over 90 people living with MND in Gloucestershire alone. The nature of MND means equipment and care is absolutely essential to support people living with this illness and whilst the NHS does everything it can, it has limitations which don’t always extend to providing everything someone may need to make the years more comfortable. We are also hoping that we can help families have access to funds that will give them opportunities to create memories together alongside care and equipment. I will update the link in my bio to provide more details on how you can help and where you can help. Love to you all and thank you.

My uncle and his mate Mark (ardent Tigers fans) donning the 🍒 & ⚪️ at Welford Road. A pint on the Crumbie, is where you’ll find me soon 😁. (They won’t be wearing them when Glos play Tigers!)

The wrong result 😉 Great day with fellow MND battler Matt Gallagher at Birmingham City. Despite my team losing, it was good to catch up with Matt. To top it off, I got to meet Charlton royalty, Alan Curbishley. #cafc

In other words, they want to use players that have come through the 20s pathway irrespective of whether those guys are playing or not. Sounds like the pathway from age group rugby trumps form to me. Who comes up with these ridiculous ideas…

I’d love to see Leicester City win the Premier League again. They look like they’re a tight unit who are enjoying themselves, smart manager and ownership!

Two of my best mates on board with the Warriors now. Going to have to find my way to Sixways when Gloucester aren't at Holm 😁. Spoilt for choice!

Good luck to the people's champion, Kev Sinfield and his team, who have set off on the latest #7in7 challenge. They are #RunningHomeForChristmas in tribute to Rob Burrow and to continue raising much needed funds for MND. If you want to support Kev as he sets off from Gloucester tomorrow morning, then join us at Kingsholm before he sets off at 7am. There is Coffee and Tea available, drop in before you go to work 🙂
