Indexing doesn’t have to be hard 👇
@Uniswap X is one of DeFi's toughest protocols to index. Most indexers can't handle it. Yet Sim IDX turns it into a few lines of Solidity.
Here's how 🧵:
Discover how @spell_club scaled data access for 8.5M+ users across 60+ chains with @Dune Sim API.
✅ Balances load in <200ms (from 1.6s!)
✅ Cut backend complexity by 20%

There's no 'best' onchain indexer.
The right solution depends on:
✅ Realtime latency needs
✅ Historical backfill depth
✅ Cross-chain complexity
✅ Cost/SLA considerations

What kind of data do you need when building an app?
1️⃣ Account data (e.g., balances, transfer history)
2️⃣ Asset data (e.g., token prices, metadata)
3️⃣ Protocol data (e.g., contract events, financial state)

Pro tip: If you wouldn’t yell it in Times Square, don’t put it onchain.
Who said @aigentdotrun agents will be limited to XRPL data sources? Thanks to @Dune data and the power of MCP technology, you will have access to EVM chain & Solana balances, transaction history, token data and more. All from our native terminal!
Blockchain will be multichain. So should be your AI agents.
Big thanks to @DennisonBertram for sharing this powerful MCP server with the community.
Why Dune Built Sim IDX 👀 Spoiler: We reversed the flow.
Instead of pulling data AFTER execution, Sim embeds indexing logic INSIDE a custom iEVM.
✅ Result: Parallel backfills + sub-second latency.

Got upgraded on my flight to NYC this morning and everyone in first class was building onchain apps with @DuneSim API and IDX.
I looked back at the rest of the plane - everyone building with RPCs, subgraphs and super slow providers.
Just a very interesting observation.

5/ Instead of re-implementing @Uniswap X's decoding logic, as offchain indexers do, we ask the reactor to decode for us.
Sim IDX's Quoter Pattern calls the protocol directly, using it as an on-demand oracle. This is something off-chain indexers can't do.
⁉️ We use wallets daily, but how much do you know about them?

3/ Sim IDX solves it at the root with an onchain approach.
You deploy your indexer as a live onchain smart contract.
This means you can simulate onchain interactions with @Uniswap X's contracts from within the indexer itself. The protocol can interact with your indexer too!
2/ @Uniswap X uses reactor contracts to handle its sophisticated order execution logic. The problem is that swap details aren't exposed in standard logs or event traces, and most off-chain indexers rely upon logs to get their data.
UniswapX data lives deep inside contract logic, not events.
Offchain indexers get stuck trying to reconstruct every reactor's logic. This means endless decoding, manual upgrades every time the protocol changes, and brittle pipelines that don't scale.
4/ Most indexing solutions require maintaining endless contract address lists.
Sim IDX uses ABI-based triggers that automatically pick up any contract implementing the reactor interfaces that @Uniswap X uses.
Adapting to updates and new reactor types just works because the underlying contracts implement the same interface.
7/ Your Solidity event definition becomes your queryable API schema. Sim IDX generates the full database and schema without mapping or translation.
You focus only on Solidity rather than struggling with various technologies.
6/ The onchain listener doesn't just decode, it enriches the data. It injects protocol fees for accuracy, calls token contracts for metadata, and assembles complete records.
Everything validated by the protocol itself.
