I dislike how disrespectful smurfing is of the enemy team’s time. if I queue in ranked, I expect i’m 50% to win at baseline. if someone in my lobby is secretly chall, I definitely don’t have 50% to win. If I knew that beforehand I would not have queued for the game.

Without getting into details: we will for sure lose money and monthly actives from the choice to crack down on smurfing. For years, players said we would never do this because we’re too afraid to do the right thing for the game if it loses money. We believe in the game’s future.
Alts are a huge part of riot’s economy imo. Their skin sales are probably doubled by alt accounts lol. I think I spent maybe 25% of my total spendings for skins across my alts. At the very least alt account skin sales boost revenue by like 10-15%.
