I first heard Tim Keller preach on Christ in Exodus. I’d never heard someone explain like that how the whole Bible fit together.
I read A Reason for God and grew in my confidence to share the gospel without defensiveness.
I read his books on marriage, preaching, work, justice, and other topics and grew from his wisdom and scriptural application.
Most of all, inspired by his mix of apologetics, pastoral heart, piety, evangelism and commitment to the local church.
When nobody raised their hand to go to NY, he went and committed himself to learning that city. God used him to bring many thousands to faith.
The heart of an evangelist. The approach of an apologist, the commitment of a pastor, the precision of a theologian. He was a brilliant scholar who never flaunted his intellect. He could he prophetic without being condescending.
I thank God for Tim Keller.
