It's with a heavy heart that we have to announce that we're cancelling AC 2020. Without an end in sight for the COVID-19 crisis it's not safe or responsible of us to hold the con.
All the info we have is at this link. anthrocon.org/covid19-cancel…
We're aware of reports involving our law enforcement partners using unnecessary aggression when clearing the con space.
We are truly sorry that this happened. There is no excuse as they were instructed to exercise courtesy with our group. We deeply regret that was not the case.
While we know stickers are popular in our community, we ask our community to help clean them off all city and building surfaces and structures. We'd like to not pay huge cleaning bills and keep the city clean! ❤️
We know everyone wants to enjoy the festivities, but please don't make a mess of the city. We want to be respectful guests and have a home here in the future. Please pick up after yourselves.
Thank you to the volunteers that helped clean litter this morning! #Anthrocon#AC2025
After hearing our attendees and artists loud and clear, we have revisited the Art Show policy to bring it in line with the feedback we’ve received. Our update can be found attached.
We want to be clear: AI-generated artwork is NOT supported nor allowed at Anthrocon.
ALT A screenshot of the updated Anthrocon Art Show policy regarding AI-generated artwork.
Are AI-generated images allowed?
All entries must be your own work. Images generated by artificial intelligence engines such as DALL–E, Midjourney and Stable Diffusion may NOT be entered in the Art Show, because you did not create them yourself.
For questions on the use of AI-based tools, such as those in Photoshop or available online, please contact the Art Show Director for further guidance.
📝 REGARDING ART SHOW POLICY
We hear everyone's legitimate concerns. Our Art Show team is working on revising the policy's language. Our intent was NEVER to endorse AI art as acceptable.
We apologize for the misunderstanding - please allow our team some time today to revise.
We're heartbroken at the passing of Mark Merlino / Sy Sable of @Skiltaire_Party today. A founder of furry fandom, he helped pave the way for the fandom and impacted many lives with his work.
Our condolences go out to his partners, family, and everyone impacted by his love 🥀❤️
We've got a segment on the KDKA TV channel this afternoon airing in about 15 minutes at 3pm. If you're local or have access to that channel, check it out! @KDKA#Anthrocon
Please see the following statement regarding an individual that was seen in this year's Fursuit Parade. Anthrocon strives to be a positive and supportive member of our furry community, and we we want our attendees to know that we hear them and take their concerns seriously.
ALT Anthrocon was made aware of a controversial individual who participated in the Fursuit Parade on July 5th, 2025. After careful review with our team members, we believe that this individual specifically and intentionally circumvented our Event and Safety measures (including costume review) with the intention of causing a scene and disruption.
We want to reassure the members of our community that this individual is not allowed membership at Anthrocon now or in the future. Given the urgent and sensitive nature of the individual's actions, we took special exception to our policy of not discussing bans or banned individuals as we want our attendees to know that we hear them and take their concerns seriously. Anthrocon strives to be a positive and supportive member of our furry community. The Anthrocon staff and venue partners want to thank everyone for their patience and information as we endeavor to host the best furry event that we possibly can. Sincerely, Anthrocon, Inc.
It's only two weeks until we begin to load into the city of Pittsburgh for #Anthrocon and the biggest furry event of the summer! 🐾☀️

Hello AC attendees, we want it to be known that the individual causing concerns today in the convention space has been removed from the event.
We will have a more formal
statement prepared in the morning.
We will be revisiting our relationship with our partners immediately to ensure this will NEVER happen again. This behavior has no place at AC.
We are as angry as you are and will work to improve security practices and policies with outside partners. That is our guarantee.
Final numbers for #AC2025:
👨👩👧👦 Attendance: 18,357
💸 Charity: Over $87,000
Our Attendee Feedback Survey will be sent via ✉️email in the coming days. See you next year July 2-5, 2026 for "Critters, Cryptids & Curses" AND our 20th anniversary in Pittsburgh! #Anthrocon

Without a doubt, the majority of furries found their identity and community through FurAffinity, and shaped so many lives.
We would like to extend our condolences to the FurAffinity team, and Dragoneer's friends and loved ones. Thank you for all your service to our community. ❤️
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden loss of FA's owner, @Dragoneer. We ask for your patience & respect for his family’s privacy. We remain committed to supporting each other & the community. We will keep you updated as we learn more. Thank you for your kindness.
This year at #Anthrocon, we're going to be taking our public engagement to the next level with a 🎉FURSUIT BLOCK PARTY!🥳

While we continue to wrap up our 2022 post-convention, our leadership team would like to address a high-priority issue that we know attendees are concerned about. We're actively working on doing better, and hope you'll give us the opportunity to do so.
To help clarify some of our parade guidelines for this year and inspire partial outfits, check out these examples from some of our team!
Examples include combos of:

Please be advised that there is an air quality warning in effect for Pittsburgh today due to wildfire haze spreading.
Take care if you are venturing outside or have any concerns with air quality! We're hoping it clears up for the weekend 🤞

⚠️ We have an announcement to make regarding our registration lines for Thursday evening. ⚠️
Due to the sheer number of attendees still in line at this time, we have decided to close Registration lines for Thursday evening to ensure our staff can conclude their service on time.
ALT As we have seen, the registration queues for today have exceeded all expectations of growth, and as a result, has put additional stress on both attendees and our convention staff.
Due to the sheer number of attendees that are still in line at this time, and in the interest of everyone’s health and well-being, we have decided to close Registration lines for Thursday evening to ensure our staff can conclude their service on time.
Registration will re-open tomorrow on Friday, July 5th starting at 9 am for both pre-registration and on-site purchase, and close at 9 pm. This means that attendees who have not picked up their badge will be unable to enter the convention space.
We truly apologize for the inconvenience and frustration to attendees looking to pick up their badge tonight, and look forward to serving you tomorrow morning at 9 am.
In the spirit of keeping everyone informed about important changes to #Anthrocon, we have a video announcement about some of the intended changes for Anthrocon 2025. Watch the full announcement video on our website.
