Pivot to Video was a scam perpetrated by Facebook, who produced false data to persuade publishers that users engaged with video at astronomically higher rates than text/graphics. Thousands of people were fired and millions of dollars was spent on video content nobody wanted.
Truly don't understand "pivot to video." When I get excited to read a piece and find out it's a video that I have to watch for several minutes in real time, I click away. I almost never spend more time on a page where there's a video as opposed to something I can quickly read.
