Today we are celebrating my dad @DrGaborMate's 80th birthday. He was born in Budapest on January 6th 1944, two months before Nazi Germany occupied Hungary. He was able to escape the Jewish ghetto after his mother, Judy, gave him to a stranger on the street, who agreed to take him to cousins in a safer area. Staying in a cold, overcrowded flat, they kept him warm by sleeping on each side of him. After reuniting with his parents, who managed to survive, they fled to Canada along with his brother Janos in 1956. Living in Vancouver, he became a student activist, writer, high school teacher, doctor, healer, and renowned author. He and my mom Rae taught me and brother Daniel and sister Hannah from an early age to be uncompromising about the truth, both the personal and political, and to stand up for the oppressed, especially the Palestinians occupied in our name. On his 80th birthday, I honor his life and all that he has given to me and to the world. And my wish is that today's modern-day Jewish ghettos — the Gaza death camp and occupied West Bank — will be liberated from today's modern-day Nazis, the Israeli government, so that every Palestinian can have the same freedom to follow their life path that my dad has been fortunate to have.

Another victory for "Jewish safety"

Biden refers to "our military operation in Rafah." He corrects himself to say "the major military operation in Rafah", but this is yet another occasion where his flubs reveal the truth. Every Israeli massacre in Gaza is a joint Genocide Joe production.

The key word here is "stories." To date, there is no physical evidence of rape by Hamas militants, nor any purported rape victims offering direct testimony. There are only outlandish "stories" like this from a purported male witness, who uses odd language to describe "a beautiful woman with the face of an angel" being raped by "8 to 10" Hamas militants. This same "witness" also claims that he then saw another Hamas militant who "took a shovel and beheaded" another woman, whose "head rolled along the ground." Again, where is the evidence to back this up? Israel has been caught lying multiple times about atrocities (and Hamas' hospital HQ) to justify its mass murder campaign in Gaza. And "stories" like this are only starting to "surface" now. It seems clear that this is yet another fabrication in the service of genocide:

It's important to be factual. Hamas did not kill "more than 1,100 Israelis." Israel killed some of those Israelis by enacting the Hannibal Directive, which says that Israel would rather kill its own people than have to negotiate for their release (by releasing some of the thousands more Palestinian hostages in Israeli captivity). We don't know how exactly how many Israelis were killed by Israel because Israel won't allow an investigation. Also, hundreds of the Israelis killed on Oct. 7th were soldiers enforcing the siege and imprisonment of the Gaza concentration camp. Zohran's laudable opposition to Israeli genocide is not served by adopting, or failing to challenge, some of the propaganda used to wage it.

If you recognize that Israel is committing a genocide, why are you voting in favor of giving it $500 million for anything?

Using US bombs, the genocidal Israeli army has destroyed every university in Gaza. Its civilians have no refuge. Is there anything more embarrassing than coddled Ivy League students, backed by both political parties and the establishment media, pretending to be victims?

Thank you @SenSanders for reminding us what a tool you are. Bernie argues that you can’t have a ceasefire with Hamas because it’s vowed to continue resisting occupation. It doesn’t occur to him to call for ending the occupation. He has no problem with a ceasefire with Israel, even though Israel is the one committing genocide. Bernie is therefore endorsing occupation and genocide. And that’s why AIPAC is thanking him.

If you are endorsing Israel's Gaza assault by declaring that Israel "has the right to defend itself", then you're also endorsing the Oct. 7th attack. If Israel can slaughter civilians in the name of "defending itself", then Palestinians can too. They were ethnically cleansed in 1948 and have been occupied since 1967. Israel has refused to end the occupation and rejected the only diplomatic solution with international -- including PLO, Hamas and Arab states - support: an Israeli withdrawal from the West Bank and Gaza, and creation of a Palestinian state there. (A huge compromise for Palestinians in 22% of their ancestral land). On Oct. 6th, Israeli forces and settlers had already killed 200 Palestinians this year alone (adding to a toll of tens of thousands since 1948). Occupied people have the right to resist military occupation. Israel had the right to defend itself on Oct. 7th as Palestinian militants attacked it. But it's not Oct. 7th anymore. It's more than one month later, and Israel has killed thousands of Palestinian civilians, including 4,650+ children. Israel has no right to commit mass murder in the territory it's illegally occupying. Occupiers don't have the right to defend their occupation; they only have the obligation to end it. Which also happens to be the best way that Israel could defend its long-term security, along with everybody else's -- who have just as much of a right to security and self-defense.

Did the German Nazis admit their genocidal crimes as openly as the Israelis do?

What "women" are you talking about? There are no women on record claiming that they suffered sexual violence on Oct. 7th. This article cites one woman, Sapir, who claimed she witnessed rape. Her story is a transparent fraud. She claims that as one "terrorist" raped a woman, another cut off her breast with a box cutter. “One continues to rape her, and the other throws her breast to someone else, and they play with it, throw it, and it falls on the road,” Sapir said. On top of witnessing that, "she saw three other women raped and terrorists carrying the severed heads of three more women." Where is the evidence of a severed breast and severed heads? Who really believes this insanity? The article then cites two other women soldiers who claim that they saw signs of sexual violence in the corpses. But yet the article also concedes that the Israeli army has zero forensic or physical evidence of sexual violence. As one Israeli army spokesperson says: "We have zero autopsies, zero." Accordingly, Israel has zero evidence. Yet so many dupes are rushing to parrot this genocidal state's insane claims.

In the rubble of Gaza, they've found thousands of dead children murdered by the world's present-day Hitler:

Bernie's statement opens with this: "Hamas, a terrorist organization, began this war with its brutal attack on October 7, 2023, which killed 1,200 innocent people and took 250 hostages. Israel, as any other country, had a right to defend itself from Hamas." His statements make zero mention of the decades of Israeli occupation, siege, massacres, and ethnic cleansing of Palestinians that preceded Oct. 7th. His claim about "1,200 innocent people" killed on Oct. 7th is doubly false: several hundred of those people were not innocent civilians; they were soldiers enforcing the siege of the Gaza concentration camp. Moreover, not all were killed Palestinian militants: some were killed by Israel's enactment of the Hannibal Directive. Only by erasing and whitewashing Israel's barbaric occupation of Palestinians can you claim, as Bernie does, that Hamas "began this war" and that Israel has "a right to defend itself from Hamas" by bombing Gaza. It took Bernie way too long to acknowledge that this is genocide. While I appreciate some of his efforts to challenge it, it's unfortunate that he still parrots some of the Israeli propaganda used to wage it.

This is propaganda. There is no evidence that Hamas killed these civilians. In November 2023, Hamas claimed that they were killed in an Israeli airstrike. And Israel has a track record of doing that.

Forgive the rest of us for not doing enough to help save you from Israel.

Ukraine did negotiate at the beginning of the invasion. So much so that it reached the outline of a peace deal with Russia. Zelensky abandoned that deal at the behest of the US and UK, who wanted to use Ukraine to bleed Russia -- no matter how much death and destruction ensued. This reality remains censored by Western media -- across the spectrum -- with Ukrainians left to pay the price:

It only emerged four years later that CrowdStrike had "no evidence" of Russian hacking. The Clinton campaign, CrowdStrike, and Mueller had all concealed this. They even gave false statements to Congress about it. The claim that "Palestinians have been offered a state independent of Israel but they turned it down" is a lie used to justify Israeli violence and occupation. Israeli Foreign Minister Shlomo Ben Ami said of Israel's July 2000 Camp David "offer", which Hillary cites: “If I were a Palestinian, I would have rejected Camp David as well.” That's because Israel has never offered Palestinians an actual state, just West Bank cantons surrounded by Israeli settlements and cut off from Gaza.
