As someone with 7200 hours of CSGO under my belt and over 100 games of CS2, here is my stance for people who didn't ask:
- Yes, there is an undeniable difference in feeling between CS:GO 64 v 128 tick.
- CS:GO tickrate should've been standardised across the board a long time ago.
- Movement and shooting feel bad on CS:GO 64 tick. In my experience, they feel even worse in CS2 right now.
- CS2 subtick is good tech, but not perfect yet.
- My experience in CS2 is a lot of dying around corners and sprays feeling weird.
- CS2 doesn't feel "responsive" or "predictable" - sometimes my sprays just don't go the way I expect.
- Counter-strafing animations seem incorrect - I'm getting killed by "running" targets so often. I imagine this is an animation issue, not that these people are *actually* running.
- The swap to CS2 will happen even if it isn't ready. Pros will have to just suck it up - its part of the process to make the game better for everyone.
The community will cherry pick experiments and results. This is fine if you use it to convey your experiences, not to blindly follow a crowd. Valve can fix these issues with time and most importantly, valuable input.
