World Rowing is saddened to hear that Peter-Michael Kolbe died on Friday in Lübeck (Germany) at the age of 70. The German was one of the greatest rowers in the history of our sport. A single sculls specialist, 5x World Champion and 3x Olympic medallist, his duels with the Finn legend Pertti Karppinen have entered the legend of the sport.
