Very rarely am I overcome with emotion to the point of tears from a game. I cried tears of joy when this one ended. After the 26-year hiatus from greatness and the 3-year climb this current squad has made, I just couldn’t hold back my emotions. The fact that Corum, JJ, and Roman all played a pivotal roll in the comeback and this DEFENSE came up big again was a thing of beauty. All time classy move by Harbaugh to have Tony Petitti hand the Big Ten Champ trophy to Zak Zinter. The entire fanbase wanted Petitti to have to hand the trophy to Harbaugh after the controversial moves made by the Big Ten. Harbaugh once again chose to make it about his players.

As freshman, JJ McCarthy and Donovan Edwards watched Georgia celebrate their 2021-22 Orange Bowl victory. They told the world they’d be back and the world laughed at them. Against all odds, as sophomores they returned to the CFP only to stumble once again against a team they should have beaten. They told the world they’d be back again. As juniors they returned to the CFP and finally got through the semi-final round with a win over Bama in the Rose Bowl. Now on the eve of the National Championship, JJ and The Don are preparing to put an exclamation point on what has been one of the most impressive runs in college football history. The players have been very clear about their goal this season: win the Natty.

Sherrone Moore is the first Michigan head coach in history to defeat Michigan State, Penn State, and Ohio State in his first meeting against them.

I asked Michigan legend Chris Hutchinson if he’d snap a picture with me and the guy next to him excitedly asked if he could take the picture. After taking the pic with Chris, I realized the other guy was Michigan legend Chase Winovich. We both had a good laugh. This is so on brand for @Wino . A genuinely good dude with a magnetic energy.

The 2022 Michigan Wolverines are on the verge of doing something that has never been done in the history of Michigan football, win 13 games. Shout out to all the fans that watched every minute of every game during Rich Rod’s 3-9 season. We finally made it.

We are in uncharted territory right now in college football. If Michigan and Ohio St meet in the National Championship it would be the biggest college football game in history by a long shot.

Booing Cade McNamara is garbage. This is the QB that lead us to our first Big 10 championship in almost 20 years. Oh and he’s a freaking college kid that’s doing his best. I’m 100% on the JJ train but don’t let me catch you booing Cade. He’s a valuable member of the team.

I grew up in a Texas a die-hard Michigan fan. We didn’t have a lot of money when I was young, so it wasn’t until 2004 when I was 17 years old that my Dad was able to take me to my first Michigan game in the Big House. Prior to the game, they announced that for just the second time in school history, a true freshman would start the season at QB. Chase Henne went on to throw a record 25 touchdowns that season. This week, I’m taking my son Woodson to his first Michigan game in the Big House. Once again, a true Freshman will be starting the season at QB. This full circle moment solidifies my hunch that this is the year 25 TD’s finally gets surpassed. The record must fall!

The Eagles recently confirmed that Michigan legend @brandongraham55 is done for the season. I want to take a moment to appreciate how incredible this man is. He is one of the greatest players in Michigan history, has played 15 consecutive seasons for the Eagles, is a fantastic father, and a great human being. Whether or not we see BG in a football uniform again, I have no doubt that he is going to go on to do amazing things! Keep your head up big dog and thank you for the memories!

I snapped this pic about an hour after the end of the game last night. Future Michigan QB Jadyn Davis along with several other 2024 recruits soaking up the celebration. Can you imagine being the equivalent of a high school senior, throwing on a Michigan uniform, and suiting up with the team for a natty? This win will do wonders for recruiting for years to come, and these young men in particular will remember this for the rest of their lives.

A lot of interesting things to unpack: -Michigan showed they can win a game in a similar fashion as the 2021/2022 teams. -Still haven’t given up points in the 3rd quarter. -JJ McCarthy has gently exited the Heisman conversation. -Blake Corum has gently entered the Heisman conversation… maybe. -This team is tough, gritty, united, and talented at every position. -Impressed with Penn State’s defense. -Unimpressed with Penn State’s offense. -I can count on one hand the number of teams that can walk into Happy Valley and leave with a win. The “Michigan hasn’t played anybody” narrative is finished.

This was literally the first time Denard Robinson touched a football in a Michigan uniform. Had he been on better teams, he would be remembered as the greatest offensive skill position player in Michigan history.

I’ve seen a lot of buckeye fans saying “you guys are 3-15 in the last 18 games against us.” Sorry, that doesn’t fly anymore. We own the all-time series and we’ve won the past 2 years. You’re just drawing arbitrary lines in history at this point to ignore the fact that we own you.

The prospect of bringing Biff Poggi back to Ann Arbor is huge. Poggi was one of the key contributors to the culture shift that led to 3 straight Big Ten Championships.

Remember when Michigan lined up and ran Hassan Haskins between the tackles 28 times and he rattled off 5 touchdowns because Michigan’s entire team was tougher mentally and physically than Ohio State’s? Good times.

If Michigan wins out this year, people will complain and say they had a competitive advantage. But the truth is they are at a competitive disadvantage during the toughest stretch in their schedule, not having their head coach, LB coach, and signal decoder. If they manage to win it all, it will be one of the most impressive feats in the modern era of college football.

After JJ took 3 sacks and threw that pick 6 the world was ready to turn on him. I don’t even blame all the haters with quick Twitter fingers celebrating his struggles. They needed him to fail so they could feel something other than miserable. The youngest starting QB in the NFL didn’t doubt himself and he didn’t panic. The kid who spent his entire rookie season fighting back from injury while doubters referred to him as a “handoff merchant” thew 2 late game touchdowns to get the lead and then used his legs to cement victory on the road in his first-ever NFL start. Think twice the next next time you choose to publicly doubt JJ McCarthy. The world is learning what Michigan fans already know. He is built different.

Donovan Edwards had one of the most interesting career trajectories we’ve ever seen at Michigan. After showing elite versatility his freshman season and then totaling over 900 yards on 7.1 YPC his sophomore season (including a dominant performance in The Game), it looked like he was destined to be high draft pick. Then he curiously regressed his junior year and struggled to get it going until the National Championship game. In hindsight, if he would’ve declared last year he likely would’ve been drafted based on his stellar sophomore year and his most recent game being a monster performance with 2 huge touchdowns to win the Natty. But I think he believed what we all believed which was that he could improve his draft stock by returning to Michigan and being the RB1 for a year. However, his YPC struggled once again and he was outshined by Kalel Mullings who ultimately became Michigan’s lead back. Yesterday, The Don watched several of his teammates get drafted but he never got the call. Nevertheless, Edwards was picked up by the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent and will have a chance to prove to all of us that what we saw his sophomore year is replicable. Even though he never spent an entire season as the lead back at Michigan, Donovan Edwards will go down as one of the greatest players in Michigan’s history that always showed up in the biggest games. Harbaugh being investigated for minor violations while other programs blatantly ignore NIL pay-for-play restrictions is outlandish. This screams corruption inside the NCAA. Someone with a seat at the table is upset at Michigan’s recent success and is targeting the program.

Nothing would make me happier than beating Ohio State in their house on the way to the Pop Tarts Bowl.

ESPN’s FPI currently has Ohio State ranked #1 following their loss to Michigan. They also had Bama #1 following their home loss to Texas. I think it might be time to retire FPI as a reliable source of information.

It would be the ultimate curve ball if Jack Tuttle ended up being the guy to take us to the promised land. He has more Big Ten experience than any other QB on the roster and has looked good in the limited action that we’ve seen. He is finally expected to be healthy this week.

This is an attack on the players. Waiting until the head coach is on the plane to Happy Valley, less than 24 hours before the biggest game of the season to inform them that the head coach is suspended. The Big Ten just declared war.

I feel like Ohio State fans really don’t understand the “born on 3rd base” comment that Harbaugh made. The operative part of that quote was “and think they hit a triple.” The insult wasn’t that Ryan Day inherited a good program. It was that he was acting arrogant like he did it all himself. And now, literally the moment Harbaugh moved on, Buckeye fans across Twitter are giggling and drooling posting “born on 3rd base” memes about Sherrone Moore like it’s some kind of insult that he’s inheriting a National Championship program.

There needs to be a defensive Heisman trophy named “The Woodson.” The Heisman has become a quarterback award that occasionally includes another offensive position. But if “The Woodson” was created it would generate buzz all season long for a whole different group of players.

I’m pretty sure Mike Sainristil is the most “fan-favorite” Michigan player of my lifetime. There have been a few players that were better, but something about Mike is just super endearing to the fanbase.
