UW Law School is mourning the loss of Bella Sobah ’20, who died unexpectedly just a month after earning her law degree. Bella's family & UW-Madison friends have launched an effort to establish the Bella Sobah Award for Social Justice in her honor.
The Madison community lost a charismatic, inspiring and visionary young woman when attorney Bella Sobah unexpectedly passed away. Her family, her former classmates and her mentor are looking to establish the Bella Sobah Award for Social Justice.

We mourn the loss of former WI Supreme Court Justice Shirley Abrahamson. Abrahamson, who received her SJD from UW Law & later served on the faculty, became the 1st woman to serve on the WI Supreme Court. She became the 1st female chief justice of the state’s high court in 1996.
