Two years ago, Russia struck Ohmatdyt, Ukraine's largest children's hospital. A missile hit a place where children were fighting cancer, recovering from transplants, and receiving other life-saving treatment. Around 600 young patients, along with doctors, nurses, and parents, were inside at the time. The attack destroyed and damaged several hospital buildings, killed two people, and injured dozens more. Young patients had to be evacuated while doctors continued caring for them outside the damaged buildings. Two years later, Russia continues its campaign of terror, deliberately targeting civilians. Homes, schools, and playgrounds have all become targets of its attacks. We will not forget the strike on Ohmatdyt or the countless other atrocities Russia has committed. Russia must be held fully accountable for every crime – against children, against civilians, against humanity.

Another sleepless night. Another difficult morning for Ukrainian cities under Russian attacks. On July 8, Russia launched a massive missile and drone attack on Kharkiv, killing two people and injuring 23 others, including four children. Homes and residential areas were hit. In Kyiv, one person was killed and two others were injured in Russia's overnight attack. Administrative buildings and warehouses were damaged. In Zaporizhzhia, Russian strikes injured at least three people and set warehouses on fire. In the Chernihiv region, Russian drones struck two businesses, setting fire to an outbuilding and vehicles. Every day that Ukraine lacks enough air defence allows Russia to kill more civilians and spread terror. Partners must strengthen Ukraine's air defence now to help save lives.

The UK is unequivocal: the Russian state should NOT be represented in international sport while the barbaric full-scale invasion of Ukraine continues. We stand in full solidarity with the people of #Ukraine. The decision by the IOC is utterly appalling.

Детальніше за лінком - interfax.com.ua/news/blog/11…

We are increasingly seeing assessments by analysts, including European and now American ones, that Russia has lost the war. And the end of the war is near. The reason for this is the direct interpretation of the events by the Ukrainian and European information space, which is full of mentions of successes on the battlefield and strikes on Russian logistics and critical infrastructure. The media focuses on tactical achievements, and this is natural. More details about whether there are really prerequisites to expect an imminent end of the war, whether there can be winners in it, and why NATO's current approaches have no prospects – in the article telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2…

❗️The IOC's decision to lift its recommendations restricting the participation of Russian athletes sends a deeply concerning signal to the international community. We call on the governments of countries hosting international sporting events not to permit the display of Russian state symbols on their territory. Under this flag, Russia continues its unprovoked and illegal war against Ukraine. Every day, civilians are killed, cities are destroyed, and international law is violated. The symbols of an aggressor state have no place at international sporting events. The Olympic Movement is founded on the principles of peace, respect for human dignity, and solidarity. We therefore hope that the issue of the use of Russian state symbols at the Olympic Games will be addressed separately and with the utmost responsibility. We also call on international sports federations to maintain the existing restrictions on representatives of the aggressor state, in line with their commitment to protecting the integrity and values of international sport. Ukraine will continue working closely with its international partners to uphold these principles and to ensure that international sport is never used as a tool to legitimize aggression or whitewash the actions of a state that continues to wage war.

We welcome the UK's decisive action against those responsible for Russia's illegal chemical weapons programme. Sanctioning individuals and entities involved in the development of Novichok and other toxic agents sends a clear message: violations of international law and the Chemical Weapons Convention will not go unanswered. We appreciate the UK's principled leadership and unwavering commitment to holding Russia accountable for its crimes. @YvetteCooperMP
Chemical weapons have been used on our streets in Britain, in Ukraine and against Russia’s own citizens. From Salisbury to Siberia and the continued systematic use of chemical weapons in Ukraine – we will not allow this reckless behaviour by Russia.

Another difficult night for Ukrainians. The houses of peaceful Kyiv residents have been destroyed again. But most importantly, people. There are dead and wounded. The most painful losses that nothing can heal. The world must act decisively. Condolences to all who have lost loved ones. Gratitude to those who save and protect.

This was a horrific night in Kyiv. Over 20 ballistic missiles. At least 11 killed and dozens injured, including children. Protect Ukrainian children from Russian ballistic terror! No task is more urgent. This is our main message to the NATO summit this week. As world leaders are departing for Ankara, I wish they heard what families in Kyiv heard this night. One of the most brutal attacks with dozens of ballistic missiles. A horrific cannonade of loud explosions one after another. Russian terrorists struck sleeping civilians, targeting residential high-rises to maximize casualties. In one of the districts, an entire killed family has been taken out of the rubble: mother, father, and child. Rescue operations continue and sadly, the numbers are likely to grow. Putin’s message to Ankara is simple: he is going to point ballistic missiles at sleeping children and continue the murder as long as he can. What will the leaders of the Alliance respond? This is not the time for weak steps anymore. They will only encourage Moscow to continue and expand terror beyond Ukraine. The strongest outcome of the Ankara Summit is to increase Ukraine’s capabilities to protect our children from Russian ballistic terror. We need real steps. PAC-3 missiles were created to serve the goal of protecting people from such barbarism. There are thousands of them in storage around the world, kept for potential threats. But the threats in Ukraine are not potential! Russian missiles are killing people every week. Ukraine is currently the only country in the world facing ballistic attacks every single week. The means of protection from this terror need to be here. And we need all decisions on air defense now, not later. Because for us, the time is measured in human lives.

Russia has killed at least 10 people and injured more than 40, including two children. 15 residential buildings have been damaged in Kyiv. Rings a bell? For the second time in a week, Russia has launched a massive attack against civilians in Ukraine. For the second time in a week, Kyiv is observing a Day of Mourning. Russia continues to systematically use ballistic missiles against civilians. Today, a missile struck a residential building, killing and injuring innocent people. Any delays in delivering air defense missiles, including for Patriots, cost human lives. Every delay gives Russia another opportunity to kill. Ukraine must have the means to protect its people.

Brothers-in-arms from the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine! With great pride I want to congratulate you today on your Day. You were able to adapt to modern warfare and move to the concept of asymmetric operations, which is currently being studied by the world's leading maritime powers. Special thanks to you for April 2022 – an example when your courage became the key to Ukraine's resilience and unprecedentedly strengthened its will to win. Engineers, military and civilian sailors then had almost the only chance and used it – the flagship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet was destroyed. It was you who preserved Ukraine as a maritime state and stubbornly continue to develop its capabilities at sea. Keep it up! It will still be difficult for us, but we will certainly never be ashamed. Glory to Ukraine!

Tonight, Russia dropped an aerial bomb on the center of Sumy. At least four civilians were killed, including a child. Thirty-three more people were injured, among them seven children. Moscow has long stopped pretending to distinguish between military targets and residential neighborhoods. It bombs apartment buildings in the middle of the night because it believes it can do so without facing consequences. Those who still believe that Russia can be persuaded to stop by words should look at Sumy today. A regime that bombs children understands only one language — strength. Ukraine needs more of it. Russia must face much more of it. Every Russian attack sends the same message: Moscow has no intention of stopping its war. Every bomb dropped on a Ukrainian city is another rejection of every peace effort currently on the table. The world must answer with action, not words. Ukraine urgently needs additional air defense systems and interceptors. Russia must face stronger sanctions, deeper isolation, and growing pressure until terror is no longer a viable instrument of its policy. This is the only way to force Russia to stop this war.

The ninth convoy of vehicles for our firefighters has left for Ukraine from Britain. This is much more than just the transfer of 21 fire trucks. It is about protecting Ukrainian cities and saving the lives of civilians and rescuers who are being attacked by the Russians. I would like to thank the United Kingdom – the government, the fire and rescue services across England and Wales, and all the partners of this initiative. I also want to mention the British charity @FIRE_AID_UK, which has been helping the State Emergency Service of Ukraine since 2014. This is now the largest international rescue service support project ever implemented by UK. As part of it, Ukraine received 169 fire and rescue vehicles and over 250,000 units of equipment.

Russia shows no intention of ending its terror against ordinary people in Ukraine. A heinous aerial bomb attack targeted the city of Sumy, killing at least four people, including a child. Another 27 people were injured, among them seven children. The same day, Russian forces also attacked other regions of Ukraine. In Zaporizhzhia, two people were killed and six injured. Kharkiv and the Kharkiv region, as well as Odesa, the Dnipro and Donetsk regions, also came under attack. Russia has followed the same pattern since the very first day of its brutal war. To stop it, our partners' strategy of resistance and pressure must remain consistent and decisive – through concrete actions, increased pressure on the aggressor, and stronger air defence for Ukraine.

Today, Kyiv mourns the victims of Russia's massive attack against Ukraine's capital on July 2. Russia killed at least 30 civilians in that attack. Dozens of people were injured. We extend our deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of those whose lives were taken by Russia. As a result of Russia's attack, damage was recorded across nearly every district of Kyiv. More than 20 residential buildings were damaged, along with an emergency medical station, ambulances, businesses, and other civilian infrastructure.  Despite the danger, rescuers, medics, and emergency crews continue working around the clock to save lives and help those affected. Psychologists from Ukraine's State Emergency Service have already provided support to 190 people. On this Day of Mourning, flags are flying at half-mast across Kyiv, and all entertainment events have been cancelled. Eternal memory to those whose lives were taken by Russia. These crimes must not go unanswered. Russia must be held accountable, and Ukraine must receive the support it needs to protect its people.

Search and rescue operations are ongoing in Kyiv after Russia's massive overnight attack. At least 18 people were killed and dozens injured, including two children. In the Kharkiv region, five people, among them a child, were injured after Russian drone attacks struck homes, farms, and other civilian sites. In the Kyiv region, two people were wounded as Russian strikes damaged businesses and civilian infrastructure. In the Dnipro region, Russian attacks hit five districts, injuring two people. The aggressor state also targeted the Sumy, Zaporizhzhia, and Cherkasy regions. Russia continues to deliberately strike homes and families. Pressure on the aggressor must increase, and Ukraine must receive the air defence it urgently needs to protect lives.
