“The High North is critical to the homeland defense mission. We must maintain domain awareness, unyielding presence, and strong partnerships across the Arctic to deter aggression. Our discussions in Alaska reinforce the commands’ commitment to maintaining a secure, stable, and ready Arctic in an era of strategic competition." - Gen. Greg Guillot, commander, North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S. Northern Command Last week, Gen. Guillot participated in the NORAD and #USNORTHCOM Commander’s Conference, at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson Alaska, June 25, 2026. The conference brought together commands at all levels, as well as key partners from the U.S. Coast Guard, Space and Missile Defense Command and the Canadian Joint Operations Command, to gain a clear understanding of NORAD and NORTHCOM’s strategy, integration, processes and plans for the homeland defense mission. #WeHaveTheWatch

Last month, Gen Greg Guillot, NORAD & USNORTHCOM commander, attended #SOFWeek in Tampa, Florida. During his visit he was part of productive engagements with international Special Operations partners. A major highlight was the trilateral synchronization meeting between representatives from @socnorth , The Secretariat of National Defense (@Defensamx1) and Secretariat of the Navy (@SEMAR_mx) of Mexico, and Canadian Special Operations Forces Command (CANSOFCOM). With the World Cup being co-hosted across all three of our nations, topics discussed were aimed at strengthening the training of Special Forces and the mechanisms for multilateral synchronization to ensure a safe and secure global tournament.
An incredible week at #SOFWeek strengthening the partnerships that form the foundation of our collective security. We had the distinct honor of leading productive engagements with our international Special Operations partners. The eighth edition of the U.S.-Mexico Bilateral Military Cooperation Roundtable (BMCR) concluded on May 29, 2026, in Campeche, Mexico. This forum was held to advance the mutual vision and priorities of the bilateral security cooperation program between the U.S. military and Mexican Armed Forces. Together, military leaders from the U.S. Northern Command, the Secretariat of National Defense (@Defensamx1) and the Secretariat of the Navy (@SEMAR_MX), evaluated past, ongoing, and future maritime operations, as well as special operations forces training and capacity-building events conducted between the U.S. and Mexican Armed Forces. Additionally, the leaders addressed the importance of information sharing for the upcoming World Cup and observed the culminating event for FENIX 2026, a bilateral amphibious training exercise between U.S. Marine Forces and Mexican Naval Forces. The BMCR framework, signed in 2016, establishes cooperation procedures that contribute to strengthening the capabilities of the Mexican and U.S. Armed Forces, under the guiding principles: reciprocity, shared and differentiated responsibility, mutual trust, and full respect for sovereign decisions and territories. #FriendsNeighborsPartners, #StrongerTogether, #BilateralRelationships, #NORTHCOM, #FriendlyCountries, #RelaciónBilateral, #PaísesAmigos, #AmigosVecinosSocios
