The 18 @UN_Command Member States are not a museum piece; they are a modern platform for coalition readiness. We are grateful for the Netherlands’ steadfast commitment, because there is no substitute for being ready. #UnderOneFlag
Today, the HNLMS De Ruyter carries that moral authority forward. Her Indo-Pacific deployment provides combat-credible assurances and champions the freedom of navigation that is vital to a #FreeandopenIndoPacific.
In 1950, the Netherlands immediately answered the call, deploying the HNLMS Evertsen to do their duty. The fellowship of those early vessels forged the original form of multilateral cooperation that the United Nations Command relies on today.
Honored to join our Dutch partners aboard the @Kon_Marine HNLMS De Ruyter in Incheon. The Netherlands’ commitment to this Peninsula is a living history, built upon over 70 years of shared sacrifice.
What makes Korea what it is today? The alliance. People from disparate places coming together, believing they could make it better. That’s the foundation. That’s the power of partnership. On our 251st birthday, we’re honored to stand with you. #ROKUSAlliance
Today, the United Nations Command Security Battalion welcomed LTC Michael Baker as he assumed command from LTC Daniel Blankenhorn during a Change of Command ceremony presided over by @CDRUNCCFCUSFK
As the only fully ROK-U.S. combined battalion and UNC unit permanently stationed in the DMZ, the UNCSB has stood watch since 1953, safeguarding the JSA, supporting dialogue between both sides, protecting the residents of TSD village, and upholding the Armistice Agreement.
Thank you, LTC Blankenhorn, for your dedicated leadership and service to the battalion and the Armistice mission. Congratulations to LTC Baker as he takes the colors and leads the next chapter of the UNCSB’s proud legacy.
