#AI is transforming justice systems worldwide—but how can we ensure it strengthens, rather than undermines, the rule of law and human rights?
@UNESCO, as the UN lead agency on artificial intelligence, is grounding AI development in ethics and human rights through its Recommendation on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence.
In this context,
#UNESCO has launched the Global Toolkit on AI and the Rule of Law for the Judiciary—a practical, training-focused resource designed for judges and judicial professionals.
Funded by the European Union, the toolkit provides clear guidance on AI’s applications in courts, addresses risks like bias, opacity, and privacy violations, and offers concrete strategies to protect due process, transparency, and fairness.
Through this initiative, UNESCO is empowering judiciaries worldwide to govern AI responsibly and uphold democratic principles in the digital age.
