Addressing the 58th #UNAIDSPCB, India highlighted its Triple Elimination Strategy to eliminate vertical transmission of HIV, Syphilis and Hepatitis B, reaffirmed its commitment to Universal Health Coverage through integrated primary healthcare under the vision of #ViksitBharat2047.
India also emphasized the need to preserve UNAIDS' core functions for a stronger global response to end AIDS by 2030

Opening the thematic discussion, Netherlands Vice-Minister Pascalle Grotenhuis called for a future-proof, impact-driven UNAIDS that is financially viable, aligned with UN reform, and centred on the people it serves.

The UNAIDS Joint Programme is on a journey of transformation. At last week’s CCO meeting, Winnie Byanyima quoted @AminaJMohammed, UN Deputy Secretary-General, who said the Secretariat’s relationship with communities is “unique in the UN system” and must be preserved.
We will not end AIDS through institutions alone. We will deliver it through people—communities who refuse to be invisible, staff carrying this mission, partners & Member States who stand with us, and courageous leadership in the face of uncertainty,” says @Winnie_Byanyima.
