Chatted with #Bills guard O'Cyrus Torrence about the decisive fourth and 5 play. All game, DC Steve Spagnuolo showed this particular pressure... and backed off. Typically sent heat where the Chiefs *weren't* showing it pre-snap. That's why the Bills slid their protection left. Big mistake. Legend of Spags grows. “They set it up. It was like they were waiting to get in that situation all game to bring out that one pressure.”

Great breakdown from Logan Ryan on how the Titans shut down Lamar Jackson: "We had 8-, 9-man boxes all night. You play Madden and run Engage Eight all day, it’s hard to run the ball. We pretty much did that." They also used Bills as a blueprint. Full quote here:

He's played 11 years now. Here's DaQuan Jones on what makes this #Bills team different. “The first thing that pops to my mind is having just a group of mutts. Mixed dog breeds out here. All forming together and bonding and working off each other and I think that’s what works. We gel really well together on offense and defense. I hang out with Sam Martin so much and hang out with offensive guys. Vice versa. We’re a very tight-knit group. And it's not just two guys doing it or one guy doing it or the offense staying with the offense. We all intermingle. This is probably the only team I’ve been on where every teammate event or teammate function or a Halloween party, a Christmas party, where everyone shows up. I think that matters goes a long way.”

So... what can you even do? O'Cyrus Torrence admits studying tendencies vs. Spags only helps to a point. “He hides it pretty well so it’s hard to pinpoint one specific area to get better at because the D-Line is moving, the linebackers are communicating, the safeties are coming, the cornerback’s blitzing. So they’re all moving around. It's not like you just pinpoint one specific area and try to hold up. And then you’ve got Chris Jones up front. I feel like with a guy like Chris Jones — playing against him four times now — it makes it a lot easier to call defense because the offensive line has got to respect where he’s at. "And if he’s on one end, you likely could bring it to the other side. But if they don’t come, now you’ve got him 1 on 1.”
