I think Rein mirrors are kinda kappa too now. They haven’t really happened much but after the first neutral and the windows, mei ults and sym walls start getting whipped out - the fights aren’t really interesting or dependent on the Rein that much. Not comparable to the old rein brawl mirrors
Ram has only gotten buffs to make him harder to punish as well since his release. The block and watch the sojourns duel it out strategy is not interesting. Since S9, if you try to make a play and do damage you end up just getting your team so far down. You have to wait until you can actually start punching now.
I enjoyed the recent Mauga meta with his new shout because there were so many cool things you could do to get your team up in the fight. It was also refreshing to have an impactful ult that couldn’t be completely negated by fast charging supp ults. Obviously it was OP.
Zarya brawl relies entirely upon having someone to bubble and is very snowbally
Every single player on Orisa looks exactly the same. More than Mauga and Ram imo. The spears can be fun.
That leaves 1 hero with queen having skill shots, aim, movement, and a risky ult. Not a good look for a game that so heavily has leaned into these tank designs.
For 6 years I could tell you roughly who are the best players on every hero was. Now that we got heroes like Mauga, Orisa, Ram, and even somewhat Rein because no one wants to play it. I can’t tell you who the best Ram is. I can’t tell you who the best Orisa is. These heroes also rarely get played in other types of comps because of how one dimensional they are.
NA and EU defaults to hivemind or poke because that it what they practiced for years in OW1 and those comps were much harder to execute properly. Unfortunately both brawl and poke are incredibly easier to execute in the sequel where most comps turn into Sojourn mirrors. Dive is the only comp that didn’t get incredibly easier that still requires you to pick the hardest heroes in the game - Winston Doom Tracer Brig… probably due to having to choose how to use your mobility requires more skill and is more punishing than using a “brawl” tank cooldown too early or late.
