📍What happens at the end of The Root Network’s first 90 day reward cycle?
Your staking rewards, in the form of Vortex tokens, will be viewable within your FuturePass. Distribution will be in the days following the completed reward cycle.
Cycle one ends November 19th PT.
📍What are Vortex tokens?
Vortex tokens are The Root Network’s staking reward token.
At the end of each reward cycle, the protocol determines how many new Vortex tokens to mint. These are based on the Bootstrap Rewards, Gas and Network Fees collected during the cycle. The new Vortex tokens are then distributed as rewards for participation.
Your Vortex tokens can be held, traded or unwound to release a corresponding percentage of tokens that are in The Vortex. This is currently a combination of XRP, ROOT, SYLO & ASTO.
📍What happens to my staked ROOT at the end of a cycle?
The short answer is, nothing. At the end of each cycle your $ROOT remains staked, that is unless you decide to unstake. There is a 28 day unbonding period and this applies regardless of the era or cycle.
