On behalf of our members and Spurs fans everywhere we would like to thank Ange Postecoglou for his passion and commitment during his two years at Spurs. The vast majority of fans will love Ange forever because of the incredible moments he gave us in the Europa League, culminating with our first trophy in 17 years and first European trophy since 1984. The memories of that amazing night in Bilbao and the victory parade will live forever in our hearts. They will become stories we will tell our children and our grandchildren. Spurs fans will understandably have different opinions on what comes next. Many would want to see whether Ange could have built on the new confidence he gave us and the players, next season. However the league results have been a long way short of what Spurs fans expect. We travel the length and breadth of the country to watch our team. We come from all over the World to support them. We pay amongst the very highest ticket prices in Europe. Twenty two league defeats in one season is not okay. Our concern now is that it appears we will have yet another change of direction and that this is something that is becoming a habit since we said goodbye to Mauricio Pochettino in 2019 . We can only hope that the right decision has been made and that the new manager is fully supported by the Board and everyone at the Club to build on the cup success that Ange has lain. He will need the finances to build a strong squad that can challenge simultaneously on many fronts. We wish whoever is appointed well. Spurs fans have had a taste of glory and we don’t want to wait another seventeen years for more.

We warned Spurs against pricing our group stage UCL game v Villareal at Cat B. The fact we are now being urged to invite up to SIX of our friends to this game, suggests we were right. Why not price games affordably and pack the stadium? That’s how you create the atmosphere we all want on European nights.

We all want as many Spurs fans as possible to enjoy the parade and to see our shiny new trophy. We urged the Club to move it to a time that children and adults could attend. We are delighted that the Club has listened and has succeeded in moving the parade to a 5.30pm start, which is far better than the proposed time of 3pm . And while some of us won’t be back from Bilbao, we can see the trophy at THS on Sunday.

While we are all pleased that fans not going to Bilbao will be able to watch the final at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, we are disappointed that currently, there won’t be the giant screens on the pitch. We’ve asked the Club to reconsider this decision and to make the experience as memorable as possible for everyone.

We are extremely disappointed with the Club’s decision to increase match day tickets prices for the second consecutive year. This follows the @SpursOfficial announcement earlier this year that have seen season tickets increase by six per cent and of course the disgraceful changes to senior concession season tickets. THST Official board members met with the Club on June 4 and once again argued that during this cost-of-living crisis, ticket prices should not be increased. We asked the Club to remove booking fees and to revert to five category A games, nine category B games and five category C games, rather than the 6-9-4 they have pushed ahead with. This is not structured dialogue or consultation and we have said as much to the Club. We pushed for stretch pricing and were able to restrict the increases on category B and C games to £1, but we still believe the increase to category A games is indefensible and unnecessary. The cumulative effect of the increases is an overall increase higher than the rate of inflation. The Club’s Fan Advisory Board also expressed its opposition to the proposed increase and its disappointment at the Club’s refusal to agree to revert to 5/9/5 split on match categorisation or to remove booking fees. A television deal worth £6.7bn is in place for four seasons from 2025/26 shining a light on the record levels of income being generated by Premier League clubs. We urge both the @premierleague and the incoming independent regulator to take action and to put in place regulations to prevent clubs exploiting loyalty. THST Official will continue to work with @WeAreTheFSA , fellow supporters’ trusts and politicians to push hard for such regulation. It has become increasingly apparent that such changes will not come from within most Premier League club boardrooms.

Our home fixture with Wolves is now, as many of us feared, to be played at 8pm on Saturday 27th September. The broadcasting companies couldn’t care less about match going fans travelling the length and breadth of the country, and many from across Europe. Football without fans is nothing. The THST Board is disappointed to read today that the new sleeve partner for the men’s and women’s first team is a crypto platform.  This follows a worrying trend towards funding by crypto currency companies and betting companies.   Football clubs have a unique position within society, benefitting from a lifetime of loyalty from their supporters.  This should not be taken for granted, and the responsibility that comes with it should not be underestimated.   Because the Club promotes these names, supporters could understandably assume that Spurs are endorsing the products and the habits they develop in their users, essentially saying that they are not putting fans at risk.   We understand that the Club need to secure sponsorship, and we would love to think this funding would one day be reflected in lower price rises for loyal fans.  However, we would urge Spurs to seek sponsors whose products do not lure their own supporters into taking financial risks that many can ill afford.

THST considers that these prices are excessive. We do not believe Dortmund should be category A. In discussions with the Club we argued for a maximum of Category C and when that was rejected argued for BCCC across the four fixtures. Throughout, we urged the club to focus on maximising attendance & support. Fans should come first.
