Quite proud of this one, as covered in our Update Notes - the team has been working behind the scenes to establish a "Community Art Series" project.
We've started this off with a collaboration with Battlefield Friends and our wonderful community artist @Pericote9.
The project aims to mash themes of Battlefield and assign them to artists within our community who are then free to create and imagine their own spin/style on it.
For now, you'll be able to unlock a set of Battlefield Friends-inspired Player Cards in Battlefield 2042. The "Always Check Your Rear" card is available by simply logging into Battlefield 2042 this week.
We hope to continue this project and grow it in the future too.

It was clear players felt its ability to use Double Assault Rifles, or other Signature Weapons intruded on Class Identity.
As we've stated, this'll no longer be the case.
Going forward, the Weapon Sling cannot use the following as a second weapon:
Assault Rifles.
LMG.
Snipers Rifles.
It can use:
Carbines.
DMRs.
Shotguns.

Following our latest Community Update indicating our intent to improve progression, the following changes will gradually roll out across all platforms over the next couple of hours.
▫️Match Completion XP per min increased by 10%
▫️XP from Daily Challenges increased by 40%
▫️The XP needed to unlock the first 20 Attachment Ranks has been reduced.
🔸Please Note: For weapons that are already being progressed, the UI might display something inaccurate at first; this will resolve once a match has been played with that weapon.
▫️Assignments requiring Career Ranks 20, 23, and 26 to begin will now require Career Ranks 10, 15, and 20, respectively.
🔸As stated within the Community Update, we are aware of the frustrations regarding the challenges themselves. We are actively working on reviewing them, but it will take more time to develop, test, and implement these changes.

There was a lot of chatter about Assault losing its health regen with the Adrenaline Injector and we can finally share what we're doing to replace it.
First and foremost - Health or Ammo resupply should be sought by a Support class, this is role clarity. But what we're trying to do with Assault is position it as the charge, but also the lead.
So, at launch your Signature Trait for Assault is "Commanding Presence" replacing "Enhanced Mobility"
Commanding Presence is an invisible aura/radius of sorts, it will speed up objective captures for nearby squad members and it'll take you and your squad out of combat status faster.
This we believe continues our work to clearly position each class, and improve upon what they are proficient at, on the field.
No more is Assault the "lonewolf class" but the one that passively supports everyone else in their squad.

We've temporarily disabled the Lock-Guided Missile (MR Missile) for the Infantry Fighting Vehicle as we work to address inconsistencies witnessed with this vehicle's countermeasures.
This change is live and will apply from your next match onward.
We're aiming to have this issue resolved in an update next week.

Just to clarify, we have no intention to drop 128P support for future map offerings. Players have told us this is great for some modes, but not everything.
Our focus is on building for fun, freedom, and creativity with 128P being present on future maps in Battlefield Portal too!
Future #Battlefield2042 maps from Season 2 onwards will only support 64 players.
128 player support is being retained but only for the launch and Season 1 maps.

We've been looking into the theories, and are working on improving the time as much as possible for this current iteration of Custom Search.

We have been monitoring unusual wait times when using the Custom Search feature to find matches.
Our ongoing investigations reveal that some users experience wait times of 4-5 minutes, depending on the mode and map selected.
Custom Search prioritizes filling matches to near capacity. Due to the record numbers during Open Beta, matches are filling quickly.
If Custom Search cannot match you within a certain time, it will attempt to create a new match. This process takes 4-5 minutes to maximize the chance of finding the most suitable scenarios first.
Players that are grouping up, may also experience this more as that search becomes tighter due to having to fit more people into a match.
Open Beta, and Battlefield Labs allows us to validate and improve the backend processes that take place around our features and this amount of players has helped us with this for Custom Search.
We're working towards improving this experience and trying to get wait times down from 5 minutes within the Open Beta. With an outlook towards fully resolving this for launch and bringing reliability of the experience to the Custom Search function.
