As a mother and father, this is one of our proudest moments, our twin boys graduating from college. Our son Jack Sullivan from the University of South Carolina and his brother Sean Sullivan from the University of Alabama. We wish them so much success in the next chapter of their lives. One of the challenges of twins is having them graduate on the same day from Universities in two different states. My wife to South Carolina and I, to Alabama. I had the additional honor of "pinning" my son as a 2LT in the United States Army.

Recent reports from the DHS reveal that 400 individuals with terrorist affiliations have entered the country. McLaughlin VFW Post 8540 it was a profound privilege to lead our community in honoring the brave men and women who never returned home. Memorial Day is a time for reflection and gratitude, a moment to remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Their courage and dedication inspire us to live with purpose and honor their legacy. Thank you to everyone who joined us in this solemn tribute. Together, we keep the memory of our fallen heroes alive. God bless America.

Today, I had the privilege of participating in the 19th anniversary of Operation Cookie. Throughout my deployments in Kuwait, Iraq, and Afghanistan, as well as at Fort Irwin, CA, and Fort McCoy, WI, I have been touched by the generosity of receiving cookies. Even when not deployed overseas, I make sure to express my gratitude here at the Nassau County Headquarters. This year holds special significance for me, as in just 8 days, I will proudly witness my son's commissioning ceremony in the United States Army. It brings me great comfort to know that he will be remembered and honored for his service in the years to come.

This was my 85th donation to the New York Blood Center. Every so often I come up as a match to a patient in need. Because I have a strong White Blood Cell count I am called for a patient undergoing some form of cancer treatment. The procedure is called Leukapheresis. During leukapheresis, your blood passes through a machine that takes out the white blood cells and returns all the other blood cells and plasma back into the bloodstream. We Attended the 102nd Precinct Community Council, the first thing on the agenda was to recognize the Police Officers of the Month, thank you for bravery and service to this city. Thank you to Assistant Kevin Williams for the update on the issues and policing affairs in Queens South. Thank you to Deputy Inspector Kivlin for sharing the efforts of the 102 to keep the neighborhoods safe. The men and women of the NYPD, deserve policies from our elected officials that support their efforts and their safety. It is unacceptable that our officers have to risk their lives and personal safety to arrest the same person over and over again.
