Really proud that we’ve been able to support 10 local young unemployed people and offer them training. They are all working so hard - told me yesterday they want my job - they can have it!!
A pleasure to meet some of the newest team members at the @mercurytheatre who have joined as part of the @DWP Kickstart scheme. What a brilliant place to work where they will gain huge experience. It was great to see their passion and hear about their aspirations for the future.

🥳 @BenFryer is live in Colchester until 2pm - with some VERY excited people at Colchester’s @mercurytheatre - on the day that Colchester is declared a city once again.
It’s one of eight new cities declared today as part of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

Great first session tonight of @mercurytheatre's Playwrights Development Programme. So nourishing and galvanising to meet 14 other writers in the East, chat stories for 2 hours and start to dream up the plays we're going to write over the next 9 months!
