Our Farming Roadmap, published last week, puts co-operatives at the heart of English agriculture.
Co-ops and mutuals will play a much larger role, lowering costs, spreading risk and giving farmers a fairer share of the value they create.

During the heatwave last week, I visited farms and the Royal Norfolk Show and saw first-hand the incredible hard work that goes into putting food on our tables.
Ahead of another heatwave, a huge thank you to all our food workers keeping shelves stocked and supply chains moving in the extreme heat.

This week, the Government set out the biggest naval base upgrade in over 45 years within the Defence Investment Plan.
Project Royal Oak will see £26 Billion being allocated across our naval bases, including HMNB Portsmouth here in our city, to sustain and enhance core maritime infrastructure.

Through the Farming Roadmap we published earlier this month, this Government has set out a clear long-term vision for a more profitable, productive and resilient farming sector, backed by practical support to help farmers invest in their businesses and plan for the future.
