Yes my eldest child has been impacted.
He’s bilingual 🤷🏽♀️ actually...trilingual but his 3rd language is Malay and it’s foreign and I’m an immigrant etc etc...the kind of thing you find absolutely appalling.
FYI WME isn’t manadatory, it’s a choice we made.

I was lucky enough to have worked on the relocation of 1st batch of Afghan ex-translators to 🏴 I remember one then telling me how even though he was physically here, his mind & his heart was always back home. He said that if he stayed he would have been killed.

7th August 2005 - I said goodbye to my family & friends, boarded a flight from 🇸🇬 to 🏴 I was in my early 20s, just married the ❤️ of my life and moved to the other side of the world. I don’t know what the next 15 years will bring but I’ll embrace the good & the bad.

Best decision I made for the kids 👍🏽 everything is sent home billingually so you can be involved. Lots of support from the school. Last night my 4yr old was chatting away in Welsh with a friend’s 15yr old son - who also comes from a non-Welsh speaking home.

This afternoon Selyf came down from his room clutching his arm. Said it was aching due to the amount of writing he was doing. All my sympathy disappeared when I realised he was clutching his right arm. The child is left-handed 🤦🏽♀️

Just after 10am today I got to write the last date on this board. All 22 Electoral Review Recommendations have had decisions. We talked about the significance of all this & a colleague said that this was a major achievement & that I should be proud.

Well in an unexpected turn of events, I walked into my polling station and the staff on duty excitedly announced I was the 100th person to vote there today! A massive diolch to everyone involved in making sure elections run smoothly!

After 6 weeks in 🏴 with us my mum flew back to 🇸🇬 this evening. It’s the longest visit we’ve had with her since I moved here in 2005 but somehow it still doesn’t feel long enough. The boys and I are counting down the days till we get to see the rest of the family.

Today @AcademiWales #AWSummerSchool I shared how food is my ❤️ language. Last week I dropped off boxes of honey mangoes to my neighbours & this evening one of them dropped off a box of homemade scones for us. I’ve told Mr Williams to put the kettle on!
