๐Ÿ“Not Sheikh Mansour
Dear @PepTeam, There is a very good chance you will not see this post and for good reason. Mine is but one among the outpouring of love, gratitude, and tribute to you, our greatest manager ever, the greatest manager of all time. When I began my journey as a City fan in '02, we were nowhere near what we are today. And the choice to follow this club, made in spite of my United-supporting dad, was not made with success or guarantees of trophies in mind. I still remember becoming enamoured with Sun Ji Hai, seeing him soldier on with blood streaming from his head against Southampton. The FA cup replay comeback against Tottenham in '03, perhaps my favorite City game ever. My love-hate relationship with Joey Barton began that day. Despite our struggles in the following years, I didn't care. Friends would tease me, wearing their red shirts, and I didn't care. Maybe I didn't know any better but City was my team and that's all that mattered. These were the early memories of City that still bring my happiness. I did wonder though when and if our time would ever come. I remember telling my dad over and over again that one day, it'll be different. And as dad's do, he'd laugh, roll his eyes, and say "sure." Even when word of Sheikh Mansour's takeover broke, I didn't really care because I didn't know what to think of it. And I had no idea how much everything was about to change. An FA Cup followed. And seeing Aguero score against QPR to win us our first title in 44 years was a feeling I thought I'd never replicate. A dream come true. But to not only match but exceed that feeling? Not a chance.. at least I thought. And yet, I was happy. I still dreamed of winning the UCL. Trebles? B2b titles? Centurions? Truthfully, they weren't even dreams because I couldn't even dream that big. Things that weren't even in the realm of my wildest imagination. But then, you came. And how am I to thank you for making the unfathomable a reality? What so many younger fans call "the standard" now? In many ways, I'll look back at this period of life as one of my happiest in memory. Beyond the trophies, the success, the records broken, the best days of my life to date took place while you were here. I started my company the year you arrived, married the love of my life the year of the treble, was blessed with news of my son shortly after the 4peat, started a second company, and through it all, the ups and downs of adulthood, you and City were a constant. A getaway, a reprieve from everything. After 20 years of following this club, still MY team. And I think that's part of what made you and your tenure so special. What makes it personally harder, more emotional to see you go. This wasn't just a job for you in the same way City isn't just a club for me. Call it love, family, whatever you want. The success made it sweeter but the way you embraced us, the City, the organization.. you leave me, us, everything in a better place to the best of your ability. While it felt like you and City were meant to be forever, it seems surreal that we've run out of time together. Despite all the bravado and contrarian posts to dispute the noise, I had a gut feeling that this was coming sooner than later. And even though I've said a lot already, I feel it isn't sufficient. There will never be enough words to truly thank you. I am endlessly grateful for you and your impact at my club, in my life. And I cannot wait to proudly be able to tell my son stories of just how legendary the Pep years were. Sincerely, A grateful fan.

Pep Guardiola joined City the summer before 16/17. And Kevin De Bruyne is the only City player who remains from the pre-Pep era. Which means Pep has won 11 major trophies and completely rebuilt the City team on a ยฃ455m net spend. Next time you see rivals crying about us, kindly remind them that not only do we kick their asses on the pitch, we manage and spend our money better than they do too. Long may it continue.

Statue or not, personally think we should retire the โ€˜17โ€™ after Kev retires. West Ham retired โ€˜6โ€™ for Bobby Moore. Ajax retired โ€˜14โ€™ for Cruyff. Inter retired โ€˜4โ€™ for Zanetti and Milan retired โ€˜3โ€™ for Maldini. Itโ€™s the highest honor a club can bestow on a player, by far IMO. Itโ€™s something David, Sergio, and Vinny didnโ€™t get. Some more lingering thoughts as my words begin to take shape.. found myself sitting in a heap on the floor Saturday night, wrapped in my City flag.. in disbelief. Speechless, shattered, broken in the best way possible. I have been a City fan since 02-03. My dad is a United fan. Tried to get me to support them but I couldnโ€™t bear to listen to him at that age ๐Ÿ˜‚. My rebellious nature lead me to City. I chose this club (to stick it to my dad) and somehow.. here we are. I grew to love Sun Ji-Hai for some reason and loved that we were underdogs. I really had no idea how bad we were. I honestly thought Keegan was our savior. Then Shinawatra. I had no clue. I knew we werenโ€™t as good as United. It was all my dad talked about but I donโ€™t recall being particularly sad because I had 0 expectations. I just remember being happy about having my own thing. I didnโ€™t cry about losing to Oldham in the FA cup and I remember finishing 15th in the league one year, cheering for Joey Barton as our lead scorer another when we scored 29 goals in an entire season.. only to lose to United 1-0 in our final home game. What a ride. The club has undeniably changed since then due to investment and success but honestly, who we are at the core hasnโ€™t. And Iโ€™m so happy it didnโ€™t. This is a club that has seen it all. This is a fanbase that was packing out stadiums, 30,000+ in the lower divisions. This is a club whose fans chose to support them through thick and thin, when the future wasnโ€™t certain at all. People can say whatever they want. But to be here.. 3peat, treble, European champions.. nobody, nothing can take this away from us. One of the greatest footballing sides of all time.. we know what we are. And you, the fans, deserve every single moment of this joy. Thank you @ManCity. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Youโ€™ve given me a lifetime of happy memories and I will love you forever. When you came here from Germany as Pepโ€™s first signing at City, injured and brimming with potential, I had the highest of hopes. But I never in my wildest dreams thought that youโ€™d thrive the way you have. Our other midfielders seemed to steal the headlines but you were always there, quietly putting in top performances and never complaining about your role. You carried us in Yaya Tourรฉ-esque fashion with your goals one season. Stepped us as a leader when our old guard eventually moved on. When we needed you the most, you delivered. Time and time again. But as much as the incredible player you are on the pitch, itโ€™s as much who you are as a person off the pitch that makes me so proud and thankful to have had you as the Captain of our club during a season that immortalized this team as one of the greatest club sides in the history of football. I want guys like Haaland, Dias, Bernardo, Grealish, Rodri, Akรฉ etc on this team.. nice guys, yes, but absolute dawgs on the pitch. Thatโ€™s what I want from Kalvin. I understand everyone says heโ€™ll never play over Rodri but is that really the goal? To just be a back-up? Being professional about it is commendable but where is the fire? Where is the fight? Compete. Have confidence. Show you belong. Be a mentality monster. Prove everyone wrong. Change the status quo. Not asking him to be Cancelo and cry and fight the manager about it. But I resent the โ€œhappy to be hereโ€ mentality too. This is what Stones went through. What Akรฉ is facing with Gvardiol coming in. Mahrez became a bench player, carried us in the FA Cup, saved us against Tottenham. Grealish is STILL abused by many but he has become undroppable. Not everyone is capable - that is the hard, honest truth. You want to prove you belong? This is the level.

Itโ€™s always the sore losers and fake tough guys that want to try and โ€œfightโ€ after getting embarrassed in the game. Got dunked on and picks on the smallest guy on the field, what a twat Why donโ€™t you go try that with Haaland or Dias? nitter.app/ewan10i/status/1651343โ€ฆ

He might genuinely go down as the most decorated English player of all time. Heโ€™s 23.
The youngest player ever to win six Premier League titles. ๐Ÿ†

Thinking about the emergence of the left side of our team and how it magnifies the importance of selflessness in the way we play. Haaland, despite his ravenous appetite for goals, is the consummate team player. He is the first to celebrate teammate's goals and has shown he is more than willing to make the extra pass. Grealish is the perfect partner for him on the wing, tracking back on defense, driving forward and causing chaos among defenders while Haaland sprints into position. Jack is also willing to make the pass instead of going for glory. The departure of Cancelo and the emergence of Grealish happening at the same time is not a coincidence. Cancelo was CONSTANTLY beside Jack, demanding the ball. Nathan Akรฉ is the complete, selfless opposite, giving Jack plenty of physical room to operate and shine, as well as mental freedom knowing that he has a defender who won't let him down behind him. He doesn't demand the ball for his own ego. Selflessness and playing for your teammates - everyone wins together.

I think this is my third consecutive tweet about Rodri but wow.. what a player. I am simply in awe. A winner, a professional, already a City legend in my eyes. The winner against Arsenal. The block against Liverpool. The goals against Villa, Bayern, Inter.. these arenโ€™t just tap plays in, lucky goals. How many players can bend the goal in against Inter in a Champions League final when youโ€™ve played 10482927 games already? He is the best player in the world. Pepโ€™s prized pupil.
