Kyle Larson speaks about the empathy he feels for Denny Hamlin, who he's good friends with, and the conflicting emotions of winning a Cup championship but doing so at Denny's expense.
"There's definitely a large piece of me that feels really bad and sad. But at the same point, I'm happy. It's such a weird feeling.
"When you don't win the race, you don't lead a lap, you win the championship - You steal it from a guy who's tried for so long and had it in his fingertips, it's a really weird feeling."
Kyle Larson, when asked, says he has "a lot" of empathy for Denny Hamlin and there's a piece of him that's sad over how close Hamlin came to finally winning only for it to get snatched away.
"I was gonna be happy for him to win. That's kind of what I was thinking about ... 'I can't wait to tell him good job.'"
