UPDATE: A total of nine adults were arrested and four juveniles were taken to the Reunification Center where the parents will be cited. #SLMPD officers seized nine cars and two guns.
We warned you about taking over #STL streets. It’s not welcome and we will not tolerate it. Multiple people have been taken into custody and vehicles are being seized. Two guns have also been located. Your #SLMPD detectives and officers have been investigating the potential of a significant street takeover promoting violence against police and other illegal activity. They even offered a cash reward for people who could block responding officers. Your SLMPD officers shut it down in Wilmore Park. We will continue to investigate and work hard to keep St. Louis streets safe.

Parents and guardians play a critical role by knowing where their children are, who they are with, and ensuring they are home before curfew begins. Juveniles found in violation of the curfew will be taken to a Reunification Center, where a parent or guardian must pick them up and they will cited. Thank you to the many families who are helping us keep our community safe by staying engaged and involved.

Last night, a 14-year-old and a 15-year-old were detained in Downtown/Downtown West for violating the modified juvenile curfew. Both juveniles were taken to the Reunification Center. When parents were unable to pick them up, #SLMPD juvenile detectives transported the juveniles home, where citations were issued to the parents. We want to thank the overwhelming majority of parents and guardians who have helped keep young people safe and out of harm’s way. Public safety is a shared responsibility, and your partnership makes a difference. As a reminder, the modified juvenile curfew remains in effect for Downtown and Downtown West from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. through September 8. Parents and guardians are encouraged to know where their children are, who they are with, and when they are expected home. #STL
